Hello Im a co-owner of 2 Dudes Gaming at the Tri-Cities Flea Market. We've been open over 2 years now. We are a 2 hour or less drive for a chunk of the south. Anyways heres our facebook. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1391821171077461 . Would like to be added to the list we have several NA members that frequent the shop including thetallguy.
Found a store in San Antonio Texas called SATX Video Games. Only been there once but it seems pretty nice, prices are a bit high but not too bad. https://www.facebook.com/satxvideogames210
Not sure if you want to make a note in the list or not, but Cartridges Galore in Cumberland, MD has no issue putting repro labels on high end items (see the HOS thread for details).
I can't say I am surprised, the owner was notorious for being a douche and scamming people. He was also one of those guys that spammed the shit out of craigslist. The last couple of times I went in there, they would have all their games clearly marked with prices, and when I would take a stack of games up to the counter he would proceed to look them all up on Amazon and re-price them right there at the register! I shit you not! It was like "uhhhh, sorry, this one is actually $25....this one should be $38, this one is $15" He did this 3 or 4 times in a row before I just gave up and never came back. Well, anyway, they're gone now.
Video Game Castle in Chicopee MA does the same thing. Everything is priced, but they have to go in back to check it in their system (AKA ebay) while they are ringing you up. They didn't always do this, but even when they didn't it still took them about 20 minutes to ring you up, imagine how long it takes when they have to run to the back to check every item.

Yeah every store in MA does the "higher than ebay" pricing thing.
Probably why most of the really good deals I've ever gotten have been out of state in Rhode Island + New Hampshire specifically. Every place around here is definitely pricey.
I'm pretty sure it's illegal for a store to post a price on something and then change it to a higher price when you go to get rung up. I'd start talking to BBB and the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's office.
There is a game store in Warren Rhode Island that doesn't seem to be listed. It is called "Movies Games and More." Don't get too excited, it is not much of a store and has a weird smell in it, but it does exist.

There was a store here that did that, they switched their focus to MAgic cards and the gamers stopped comming in, so there were stacks and stacks of vintage games with 2-3 year old price tags. I went in and bought several hundred dollars worth when I got back from college, and then went back the next day to get more. The owner was in that day and repriced all my games via ebays higest BIN... it went from about $200 to over $1000, That was the last time I went to that store untill they got new owners.

This can't be legal can it? I was at a store in Columbus recently, it was one of the Game On locations. They have a huge bin full of 2600 games, it says they are all $1.99 each regardless of any price tags they might have. I found an uncommon game and went to pay for it and the guy looks it up and says "uhhh, this one is actually $10". There has to be some kind of law against that

I guess they have to have some kind of defense against it. What if you came in there and ripped off the sticker and claimed you got it out of the dollar bin? If it's clearly marked as one thing and they sell it as another, then that's shady. But if it's unmarked... I could see a case for it going either way.

Aparently its illegal, but it's hard to fight against. you would have to contact your local divion of weights and measures. Usually I dont fight it because alot of local game stores do it to some extent, and I dont want to piss off someone that may have something I want in the future. I was at a store last week, and they had a CIB OOT for $20, when I asked for it they bumped it to $50, so I just politely passed, because I will probably buy more form him and dont want to get screwed by being a dick.

every game in the store that isn't in the $1.99 bin is in a glass case. It would be impossible to do that. If they are that worried about that happening then they need to just put price tags on every single game. The original place I talked about that closed actually would just change the prices on stuff that already had price tags on it, but they are gone now so who cares

Sounds like this store is a specific case. In small stores like this, there's not a lot keeping a shady customer from swapping price tags/stickers in which case the store should get the final say in price. In the case you're making, I agree that the store should have at least adjusted the price to be lower than what it was supposed to be since it was found in the cheap bin and it couldn't have got there without the store putting it there.

Stores that do this seem to be the first stores to go out of business. The only ones around here that do this that survive are magic card stores. there is one in Huntington Indiana, they dont even price games anymore, you just have to go to the counter and they price them for you "From their system" their "System" is looking at this higest ebay BIN price.

I could see a case for it going either way.
every game in the store that isn't in the $1.99 bin is in a glass case.

The Playroom in Nicholasville, KY is gone.
