I own a business in Muscle Shoals, AL called Game On. Confusing seeing other people in the same state with the exact name, but here is the facebook page for you guys. Mention NA to me and I will hook you guys up : ).
There is a store in Manhattan, KS called Game Hounds. I used to shop there a lot, but then the owner decided that every game needed to be at least 50% higher than the average online price. You can still dig through there and find the occasional deal, but it's not really worth it to me. They seem more focused on their Magic card selection these days, anyway. If you find yourself in the area, don't bother.
I forgot all about that place. It barely even qualifies as a store...last time I went in they had maybe 10 NES games in a little case then a room full of xbox games and random newer junk. Prices were insane as well
Yeah. It's close to where I live and I've been there maybe twice. I wasn't impressed either. They are working on getting some operational arcade games though.
I'm going to have to tour the Mohawk Valley area of New York one of these days. I know of at least 3 different game stores that I see advertise occasionally on craigslist, yet there's no store listings in this topic for the Rome/Utica/New Harford/Oneida, etc. areas. No NintendoAge members from that area?
I see North Point Flea Market but im the main video game vendor there (and the only one who doesn't pay bottom dollar and sell for outlandish prices) Fancy Pants Gamer. Just wanted to clarify because I didn't want NA members to be turned off by seeing such amazings things as $15 copies of Mario duck hunt and $55 copies of Zelda ii
They do have a stand-up machine or two, but THIS IS SO SAD - it's for display only. The guy told me that if they flipped the switch and turned it on, they'd have to re-license and pay additional funds to become a different kind of establishment. Thank you, Obama!!
That's a city ordinance, not federal or state.
VA Beach is run by the red team last I heard, so I guess that would make it the opposite of Obama's fault.
I found quite a few NES vendors at the Mile High Flea Market in Denver this winter when I was visiting relatives there. Picked up Life Force for $3. http://milehighfleamarket.com/en/

Thanks for doing this: I had no idea there were so many shops in the St. Louis area!
So, I'm a noob. How does one flaunt that they are a NA member when they enter these stores?
Is there an issued NA ID that you get at 100 posts? lol
Ha ha, me too.
Here's my local place:
Cool Stuff
4239 Holland Rd # 736,
Virginia Beach, VA

The place is kind of fly-by-night, decorating isn't so hot. It's kind of like Bartertown in there. They do have a stand-up machine or two, but THIS IS SO SAD - it's for display only. The guy told me that if they flipped the switch and turned it on, they'd have to re-license and pay additional funds to become a different kind of establishment. Thank you, Obama!!
Cool to see a few others here from SE VA/Hampton Roads and from MD as well. I'll have to check out the Chesapeake places.
"Cool Stuff" is under new management. They have a "Sunset Riders" cabinet now. The "Captain America and the Avengers" arcade was sold.

Thanks for the info. When I get back there, I'm going to sell this Zelda Spirit Tracks I stupidly bought.

I'm in Hampton, not VA Beach, so I don't know what coin-op tax rules exist in all of the other localities. Just that if there IS a rule, it's based in the city-code, not state or federal law.
As far as I can tell, based on the wording, they are laws that may go all the way back to penny/nickel arcades and were just never revisited because enough people didn't complain.
There is a good one in the Netherlands; Amsterdam, next to central station. The place is called; "Gameover?" They also have a website for the directions. www.Gameover.nl
