    Games galore

Went in one time to look at the nes games in there. Bought about 5 of them and spent an hour cleaning since they decide they don't need to. As I was leaving some guy with the old nes case came up to the counter and opened it up and to my surprise to see megaman 1 contra megaman 4 smb 2&3 I mean some great looking copies that has been left in the case for who knows how long. The store said they would give him 60 for the games. I'm glad I was there I told the dude to hold on to the megaman its worth more than what they are trying to give you for all of your games. He did and I said I would personally pay you more for the them and the guy at the store said that I can't do that. Seems like they rip people off for trade ins or cash buyouts but I'm sure that has everywhere.
  • Am I seeing this correctly? 3 stores added in the same day?

Wasn't trying to be a dick lol I would go back since they do have reasonable prices and sometimes have rates like ducktales 2 or snow brothers.
  • The guys who own Cash For Games Canada in Ottawa are opening a new location called "GameZetera" on Dynes street, Ottawa.

Their current store is good, great selection. I sold them a game once and it was a very fair price, especially considering it is a reseller, and I bought a bunch of games for prices that are not incredible, but always below eBay. I often try my luck on Kijiji, eBay, etc., first and end up purchasing from these guys.

Well I didn't think of it that way I do apologize and will make sure that it never happens again.
  • For British Columbia, just want to add that there is a Gamer's Choice in Surrey (same chain as the one in Maple Ridge), there is a Willow Games in Abbotsford (same one as in Langley), and also a Play 'N Trade in Abbotsford (Same one as in Duncan).
  • Couple changes for Illinois, TNT Games closed all of their stores except Woodstock. There is a new store in the Chicago area though, I've seen the owner of Play It Retro posting in a local game collecting group I'm in, store is located in Berwyn IL.
  • I have a couple small town Illinois updates:

Broadway Resale in Mattoon - https://www.facebook.com/Broadway-Resale-493729484109909/info?tab=overview

The Game Emporium in Effingham - https://www.facebook.com/The-Game-Emporium-1398585363770025/?fref=ts

Love this list, I always use this when I travel.

Yes, I'd be careful with that.  Poaching a trade like that in my shop earns instaban status.

On the other hand, if there are things we pass on we have given a customer in the store at that time a chance to buy it himself.  I don't pass on a lot but it was mediocre PS2 games with scratches.
  • There is Small Town Video games in Middleton, Idaho. It is run by a guy who used to have a storefront, but closed the storefront and now runs it out of his garage, mostly on weekends. I have been out there a few times and the guy (Steve) is first rate the whole way. He gives great deals on trades and loves to chat about collecting. http://www.smalltownvideogames.net
  • I believe the Game Central stores in Minnesota are closed permanently. I did get to go to Discland and We Got Games and enjoyed my time at both. Decent prices, good selection, and friendly employees. I'll be going back to them next time I'm in the twin cities.
  • For Maryland, re:gen in the White Marsh Mall (right outside Baltimore) - https://www.facebook.com/regenstore/

Save Point also opened another location in Hanover, PA.
  • The Game Zone in Hillsdale, New Jersey is a great little retro spot.
  • All updated!
  • I think Jay Street Videogames (New York) in Destiny USA Mall (Syracuse) just closed down. Was only open for 2 years, but their selection was pretty sparse the whole time and their prices were kind of crazy. Also, that Game Craze in the New York listing under Carousel closed well over 2 years ago. It's what turned into that Jay Street Videogames. Carousel Mall is now known as Destiny USA.

Really?  That's a bummer, used to love going to that tight little shack and looking through their stuff.

I love We Got Games, it's my go-too.

I go to the one in Mankato though, just because it's easier to get around.
  • I went to the Mankato one also. I'll be coming back next time I'm heading North to the cities.
  • For Michigan, the Disc Trader chain added a new location in the city of Jackson, Michigan. It's a great shop with a wide selection and decent prices

Unfortunately it's the reality of the business.  Trust me I don't like it either seeing people get ripped off, but that's how they make their money so we have stores to visit.  It's up to the consumer to just do a little research to see what their stuff is worth, and to decide whether to trade it in, or sell elsewhere

Jaystreet video games will not be in business long.  They pray on uninformed mall customers.  Wizards and warriors is not $15, neither is SMB/DH

  • I just went to MPS Home & Personal Electronics in Mountain Home, Idaho. Great little shop with everything from Atari 2600 to current generation stuff. Had a fun chat with the owner and picked up several SNES and Gameboy games for the collection. Prices were right around price charting averages, but I would rather spend my money at a small shop then online any day. It was a 45 minute drive, but totally worth it!

  • Retro Games Plus has opened a new store in Norwalk, CT. I stopped by there yesterday and picked up a couple of titles. Nice guys.
  • In Nova Scotia, Gator Byte Computers & Entertainment has been dealing in retro games/accessories since the early 2000's.
  • GA Game Shop in Carrollton, GA is no more

Went there Saturday and they had suddenly closed the business. From previous visits, I suspect the owner has been going through cancer treatments with radiation.

Saw a big sign advertising closing discounts that they hadn't taken down yet, even though the store is permanently closed.
