Thread Idea: Post your best Legit Auction wins from eBay!

With the increased popularity in collecting and the influx of resellers over the past several years, it becomes harder and harder to win auctions legitimately.  They either go far too high, or there's a side deal, or a BIN gets added, etc.

But this thread is to inspire and motivate your fellow collectors that good deals still do exist!  I'll post a couple of mine:

GI Joe Atlantis Factor CIB, $2 + $3 shipping for $5 shipped:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130538197067&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Granted, it was a 24 hour auction, but who would have thought it would end at the opening bid!  Solid 8ish on condition, probably a $30-$40 CIB itself.  Heck of a deal, done legitimately.

Due to combined shipping, Crystalis CIB, Bartman vs. Radioactive Man CB (w/ poster missing instruction book), Archon CIB, all for $5.23 and $6 shipping ($11.23 total).

Once again, about 8s on condition, solid shape.  I thought Bartman was complete, but not complaining with the end price at all.  Crystalis is probably $25-$30, Bartman about $12-$15 and Archon maybe $10.  My snipe was $27 on Crystalis alone so no complaining here!

So feel free to add / bump this thread whenever you win something auction style for an attractive price.  It'll give the rest of the community more hope in landing a deal.

  • Kind of an older one, but I had it hanging out in my picturepush album and figured it'd be appropriate.

  • Sweet grab! I wish I saved screenshots of auctions from over the years but I never really did that. I do have all of my prices paid with dates though, but a picture is worth 1000 words they say.
  • Great idea Jone, I love seeing deals people get whether it's BINs or Auctions more than anything. Nothing like jealousy as a motivator! .

That G.I. joe was a killer deal, I'm shocked there wasn't at least one other bidder who had caught it looking at items ending that day.

The only thing I can find recent is this, which I haven't seen arrive yet (since I'm overseas), but I sure expected some other bidders

    Nothing spectacular, but still neat.
  • Ah, so we can do pictures? Better go dig in my archive...

EDIT: This was the best one I could find:

Lot had a CIB BB2, Bomberman 2, and other loose games worth a good amount. Not to mention that the PC Tetris game in the bottom right had a Tengen Tetris in it as revealed by TNG at the CO
  • Here is one for a SNES golf accessory similar to what Speedy won for the NES. This is probably a bit more common, but I was happy with how low it went. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320723550568&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
  • Won a Cosmic Chasm Vectrex prototype in a lot for $25 shipped (original thread http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=21809 ). Vectrex prototypes make most other prototypes seem common place, and this one predated the release of the system itself. I traded it away for some amazing rarities.

I also grabbed a Mappy Land prototype in a lot that went for under $50 from what I can remember (original thread http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=14497 ). The lot itself was a steal, but the prototype was what I was really after.
  • ah man great idea for a thread JB, I feel good already. Good deals do exist.... they do exist!
  • That Super Mario sign was such a good deal!!!!!!!
  • I like the screenshots. Thats a nice way to show the auction for a long time to come. I hate when I look at old threads and all the ebay links are dead. I'll do some screenshot pics next time I get a good deal.

I tried to get her to make me a BIN on that one about 2 minutes after it was listed. but she took 2 days to respond and by that time there were several bids on it.

    Ah, that was a beauty!

Don't ask why I have that picture
  • Hahahaha! I love it!

I was wondering how much the final price was exactly, so I'm glad you kept it. That made my night!
  • I haven't got much in the last couple months so it's outside of my ebay history but I can list a few things.

    1) Lufia 1 complete in box with the map and manual. It was in kind of rough shape as the map is worn a little and the book was missing the cover, but it was all there and it was $30 shipped. Normally the game in average shape is $30 and complete is double.

    2) Lufia 2 game+manual+map, no box - $25 shipped, game itself usually tops $50 alone on ebay, the rest adds a good bit more. I got it on a BIN like 20min after it went up if that out of sheer dumb luck timing.

That's the best of it. I did get a Sunset Riders cart for $20 shipped, game usually sells over that alone. And awhile back I got for $90shipped 4 Game & Watches that all worked, no damage, no missing compartments (blackjack, pinball, dk2, and mario bros.) I only kept blackjack and pinball so I basically got em almost free after selling the other two off after deciding I didn't want them.
