Quite a surprise!

I got a collection of N64 games in the other day. While I was testing them I got to Mace the Dark Age and expected it to be just that. It wasn't. It was Gauntlet Legends in a Mace shell. This is weird for lots of reasons. What on earth would possess someone to do that? lol. I was thinking swap it with a rental so you could keep it. Bamboozle the man etc. but I got nothing else. That plan doesn't even seem fool proof since the next renter can out you. /End ramble.

  • i had a similar thing happen to me. I got a bunch of damaged games. And inside a Super Mario Bros. 3 cart was Panic Restuarant board. Strange but someone must have mixed them up at one point.
  • I've seen a few like this. I just recently bought a gyromite thinking it had a converter and it turned out to play Crystalis. Damage or rental swapping are most likely.

I'm holding my breath for the day I find a Stadium Events board in a gyromite shell
  • I was actually thinking about this the other day. I have sold so many games, I questioned in the past whether I've ensured every game was the correct cart. I would hate to sell a game with the wrong cart inside, so I've been checking them a little closer as of late.
  • Stadium Events in Gyromite One can dream! I usually clean/test good games/stuff I'm keeping and let the bulk ride. I can't remember having this happen previous. Closest thing which happens more frequently (though not recently) is finding games people leave in the toaster and the seller didn't think to check. I've gotten more Mega Man, Zelda, and Contra games that way than I'd care to admit. Which makes sense because they're so good!
  • I have an Ocarina of Time inside of a Goldeneye case because my dog chewed up the Zelda to the point where it wouldn't fit in the N64 correctly.

We should start a thread about this. So far I have found a Kirby's Adventure, Gauntlet, and Hogan's Alley inside toasters after buying them, kind of a weird selection so it would be cool to see what other oddball games people find.

I have found probably 10-15 carts inside toasters that I picked up on Craigslist, garage sales, flea markets...whatever. The best finds were Contra, Kid Icarus, Zelda, GI Joe and Donkey Kong.

  • Lucky, i keep finding SMB/Duck Hunts in them
  • I'm going to start a thread! About the toaster finds hee hee.
  • I have a Winter Games cart with Excitebike inside. It kind of looks like a label swap though since it's peeling in places.
  • I have an xmen 2 that is some shitty atv game inside it for genny
