WV Wonderful Finds!

I finally have a reason to make a thread like this!  I've had no luck hunting in rural WV, my collection has been built around Ebay/GTZ/NA so far.  Hopefully many more to come!

But, found this on CL for $50, 62 games, 6 manuals, 15 dust covers.  All of the games are in good-->very good condition once I'm done removing some marker on a few of the carts.

hehe both of u guys would crap ur pants if you have seen half the stuff i have found in our great state in the last 10 years. hmm lemme just name a few .............virtual boy kiosk, n64 kiosk, sealed mega man 5 gameboy, final fight guy cib, sealed sega nomad, sealed top loader, nintendo power 100 gold gameboys.

Don't underestimate the rural guys. Trust me its places like these where you can STILL find deals on old stuff. Cool to see some fellow WV'ers on NA

where you guys located? im in the eastern panhandle.
  • Parpunk - totally agree, my theory is that the deals appear less frequently but they're out there and there is less competition!

I used to live in Fayetteville, then moved to Beckley, and now I live in Clarksburg. Moving to Morgantown at the end of the month, though.

I work all over the state, so I get out to your neck of the woods pretty frequently.
  • A nice lot, some good titles in there
  • I'm from Charleston. We also have another member, wrldstrman, who is from WV. Goes to show that if you're not a nature person, video games is really the only thing to do in WV lol.
  • I finally get to bump my 'finders keepers' thread, hooray!

I picked up a few games for $10 from someone I'm professionally acquainted with. Just a random 'hey, I know you collect NES games and I think I found a few cleaning my basement; want them?'.

Anyway, she asked $10 for them and I said of course. I got

CIB Football - mint, not sealed and no baggie, but it has clearly never been opened more than once.

    Solitaire cart + instructions

    SMB 3 + manual

    Junior Jeopardy!

    Tecmo Bowl

    Hudson Hawk

NIB Mermaids of Atlantis - I don't think this was ever opened; can anyone confirm what's in an AVE unlicensed NIB? All it contains is the cart, instructions, and baggie. But idk if AVE included other stuff?

I'm really surprised/happy with the last one. Extremely random to be among the others.

    EDIT:  Pics.

  • Another few cool finds in West Virginia! These were from a local game store. Averaged about $10 each. Not a great deal, but I can't pass up CIB games in the wild.

  • More bumpage for two awesome finds. Hard to pick up locally, especially in WV. Paid basically Ebay prices for cart only, really happy to find them with manuals. The carts are dead mint and manuals are 8-9/10. Now to find the boxes!

  • Wow i'm very jealous about that find. Sometimes you have to pay ebay prices, thats not bad a bad thing. Manuals were thrown in also so thats just awesome.
  • Nice what part of West Virginia are you from?

Morgantown - most of these finds are somewhere in north central WV so far.
  • sent you a pm luke
  • Had another nice little local find - this was from a retro store. I think the guy has a ton of old NES games that he brings out slowly. Got these for about 1/4 what they're going for on ebay and always happy to buy locally rather than online.
