N64 games for that I could buy, maybe?

I found a few local video rental stores that will sell me their stock of N64 games.  the thing is I have to buy everything they have, as well they will only sell them for $10. each.  one store has about 50 and the other has around 40.   The games are mostly good games not really too much in the way of fillers.  mario party 1, 3 , bomberman hero, donkey kong, diddy kong, super mario 64, spiderman, harvest moon, super smash bros, just to name a few.  I guess the question is, is this a good deal?  its alot of money to spend at one time though but if its worth it you know.

one more thing i should add is that they are all cib.

  • You would really have to look closely. You are going to lose out on sports stuff and wrestling stuff, but make big on things like Harvest Moon. It sounds like it would probably be worth it, but you really have to look closely at the ratio of good to bad.
  • Also, I forgot to ask if you were getting these for yourself or resale. Resale, you would have to go through each title individually and estimate values. I assumed you meant for yourself.
  • In total from what i remember i would say between both stores their are no more than about 10 sport/wrestling games. and yes they would be for myself. there are only about a hand full of doubles that i could resell.  i know that there are 2 copys of mario party 1 and 3
  • You'll definitely make some profit (assuming you're reselling) on Harvest Moon and the Mario stuff, but a good portion of the N64 catalog probably won't get you back the 10$ each that you'd be spending.
  • If it is indeed for you (which was my initial guess), then I would go for it. Good way to pick up a large chunk of the games for the system and you don't have to deal with shipping on ebay etc. Not a bargain price or anything, but definitely a decent to good deal.
  • Honestly, for $10 each, I'd let it go (unless practically all the games are good sellers). You can get these games in large lots on eBay for less than $10/each.
  • I talk to the guy again and got him to lower the price to $9.00 each.  They mostly are good sellers from what i see on ebay.  all the lots I see on ebay though have alot of sports games in them where all the games from this store well at least 95% of them arn't.  do you think $9.00 each is a better deal? plus i'm not getting charged any tax, or shipping fees
  • Its only worth what someone is willing to pay. If it were me, I would toss out an offer of a lot less (assuming you have to buy them all) and let him know that if he breaks up the lot you would buy some of them at the $10 each price tag. I would leave my name and number and tell him to call you if he changes his mind.

I agree,  I ask to buy only the games I wanted but he wouldn't sell them unless i bought them all. I am going for a complete N64 collection so in time I would have to buy them all anyways.
  • I am putting a N64 cart collection together myself. I am at around 120 now so I have been watching what these go for lately. So the guy wants $9 a cart for 90 carts, so you are looking at $810 for 90 carts. That sounds awful high to me. You may pick up some good ones, but of those 90 there have got to be quite a few that are only worth $1-3 at most. If this guy won't let you pick the ones you want then I would have to pass myself. Just my thoughts
  • Here are the games that would be well worth 10.00 each

    ogre battle

    harvest moon

    iss 2000

    mario party 1 ,2 ,3

    dr mario

    conkers bad fur day

    killer instinct

    stunt racer

    clayfighters sculptors cut

    big mountiann 2000

    mario kart

    mario 64

    zelda either

    donkey kong

    either elmo

    super bowling.

rest 5.00 would be a fair price

  • Well, they are all complete so I really think people are undervaluing these a bit....
  • I agree, sounds like something I'd buy quickly.  Many solid N64 cart lots get $10 each and solid completes lots can easily go more. There are at least a dozen more games that easily go over $20 also: new tetris, castlevania legacy, snowboard kids 2, worms, super smash bros, bomberman 2nd attack, battle zone, mystical ninja, indiana jones to name a few
