What is allowed on this site?
From what I gather it is ok to sell reproductions of games. Pirates of games. Homebrews, reproductions of homebrews.
I have also gathered it is NOT ok to request someone to install a modchip for a ps2 by a 1st hand thread locking experience.
Not wanting to shout hypocrit or nothing but what exactly is allowed and what is not and why?
Is it ok to sell a modded system? How about just a chip?
If it is Nintendo related it seems that it is ok. Such as a soft-modded DS . However it seems if it is outside of nintendo then it is not allowed.
Please clear this up for me. Sorry I have just been in a bad mood over that thread lock since it happened and stay constantly annoyed everytime I see a thread involving some kind of pirate, repro, and so on.
Not too mention I have this constant urge to want to kick mario in his right nut.

Your thread was locked because the PS2 is still considered current generation, i.e. still making games for it. Your intentions with a modded PS2 may be noble but their is no way of knowing that. I posted a thread about aquiring a mod chip for a PS1 and had no problems at all because there is no way that I could use that chip to "rip off" Sony or game makers. It's not geared toward you just a pre-caution to help protect NA and the community as a whole. Don't view it as a personal attack. If you are really bothered maybe PM the mod that locked it and I am sure they will be more than happy to explain to you in further detail. Don't worry, they're nice guys.

Another thing, were you selling the modding service, or an already modded PS2?

See I knew this was going to be the answer. So soft-modding a wii so you can rip and play wii games via hd is ok. Same thing w/ds and r-4's and xbox and all the other services I see.
They are wayyyyy more current than ps2 but these thread stay open all the time.

Neither I have a chip I wanted someone to solder for me in my ps2 and it was locked.
So now it's pointless to have the damn thing and I want to know if i'm allowed to sell it here since I can't solder and I'm not allowed to have someone solder it for me. Guess I should have just purchased the solderless shit and did it myself.

I'm not hip to the modding scene, but perhaps there is a hard line drawn between soft-modded devices and what you were requesting, which is a hardware mod. There is a good chance, though, that my notion is completely wrong. So take it with a grain of salt.
As a moderator, it really bugs me that people complain how a free service is run. There are plenty of places out there where you can post about this stuff. Why do you have to complain because we remove something that we feel shouldn't be here? Do you run this site? Have you even donated anything to help keep it running? I don't see a single icon by your name suggesting that you have. Try to step it up and do something for the site before complaining about it. You bought something for your system, and now you're complaining because you don't know how to install it, and somehow that's our fault? Get over yourself man!
The only accepted items of this nature on this site are for long dead systems. Do things sometimes slip through the cracks? Yes. It is impossible to catch everything here on a site this large.

Actually I'm complaining because other items seem to be allowed. Keyword SEEM. If they are not then fine, I guess I am just the unlucky person whos thread got locked.
Now I come in site feedback here asking a simple question which yes has me annoyed because of EVERYTHING I see that SEEMS to be allowed on this site. So instead of assuming I'm complaining about a free service when I'm not, you could have just stated nicely that those other items are not allowed and simply have not been noticed.
The FAQ is very bland about what is allowed and I would rather not get anymore locked threads for wanting to sell ps1 modded systems, ps2 chips or any of the sort.
As far as me contributing what would you like me to contribute, let me know. I have an account on GTZ and I subscribed and PAID on that site just to have the site owner shove it down my ass wanting me to remove my sig because it was too graphic extensive.
Same sig I have now mind you. Just so you know one of the subscriber rewards is to be able to post a sig and then he wanted me to remove it. Then I had a wanted item removed because it was too generic. Yea wanting "nes sealed games" is too generic, you have to ask for 700 different titles specifically.
So forgive me if I don't hand out $$ soon as I join a site. My account should still be over there I froze it like 2 years ago and have not gone back.
