nope I just wanted something significantly different than the other three carts to replace the tips/map sheet, and even though the Pal carts have slightly different labels, they're just not significant enough for me to want to put them in. The Classic Serie is a grey cart, it's just got the gold Mario seal...aw hell here's a link The shield/crest is significantly smaller on this than any other Zelda, so it stands apart, especially when viewed next to the USA -1 grey which has a larger logo than the gold/yellow labels.
Thanks One, and welcome to the boards! I think one of the things that worked to my advantage was that the seller required immediate payment, so if any of the first seven viewers didn't have Paypal, or were just slower than I was at completing the transaction, they could have gotten to the "Pay" button too late.
Also, I think a lot of early pageviews on eBay (correct me if I'm wrong, gurus) are sentinel bots that some users have active to auto-browse auctions for specific keywords (Stadium Events, for instance). So it could be that no human eyes were set upon it. I've noticed pageviews almost immediately on even the dumbest items that I list, it can't be noobs hounding new BINs and seeing what comes with that copy of Excitebike I just listed, or whatever. Not every time?
I was most worried that someone would have just missed scoring it, and would poach it. All it would have taken was a PM: "I'll give you $100 if you don't sell it to me instead of dangevin" and that would have been that.
There's more than just the luck of finding it that came into play here, for sure.
After about 24 hours in a chemical bath, some serious hair-dryer-label-removing action and a little Krazy Glue Fu, I now own a Black LOZ as well. The diarrhea is complete. Diorama. The diorama is complete.
This just came in the mail today, apparently he had bought Conan from me and I didn't realize who it was So I'm pleased to announce that I have "inside knowledge" on the next game to be roasted!
This print is pretty sweet, if you can't tell in relation to the filing cabinet, it's a full 1/2 page (8.5 x 5.5) and features Wally Bear, Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde and many other roasted game licenses. Personally signed in sharpie. I feel quite honored Will be seeking a frame of course, this is gonna be great on the game shelf.
A little free advertising for him for being so nice: His DVD is out now for those who don't know, at http://screwattack.com/merch.html - check on it!
I don't like him very much at all, but it is a neat pop culture item. It might actually be worth a few bucks in a few years cause he is so well known. What is his ebay s/n?
Yeah I agree Jason. Never really liked his shtick, but that's a pretty cool thing to do for selling him a game. Just sucks that he's gonna roast ANOTHER of my favorites
Don't expect a lot of action when you view the profile though
Well, ask him not to resort to cursing left and right...if he roasts it for it's ACTUAL flaws, it's not that bad. If he's just using foul language for cheap laughs like some of his "reviews," then I'm gonna be pissed
Ah there we go. I got your PM but couldn't find the images in my photobucket or on my hard drive. I guess I had hosted them when I wasn't logged in and they were just kind of lost somewhere. Sorry bout that
I may have some more good things to post here later this afternoon if all goes well.
Finally got this today after two returns. They kept sending me 3-screw ones I finally had to specifically enumerate what I was looking for...I didn't realize they had so many, since it seems like they had a relatively small game stock. This is case in point why it's impossible to find some of these variants for common carts. They just picked a "Star Force" from their stack and it looked like it was in the condition of the one pictured. We had a laugh about how picky collectors are and it's all straightened out now.
Back label is Rev-A, emboss 12. Most recent chip date is 44-87, first week of November. This is an ex-rental, I can see where a sticker was removed that was straddling the seam so there's no real chance the back was swapped.
cause AVGN is annoying and gets old after about 30 secs of his babbling and cursing. If it wasn't for his catchy jingle and good video editing he wouldn't be any better than the zillion other rambling reviewers on youtube. I can curse and say how crappy games are all day as well, really not that hard.
Elevator Action - no immediately discernible difference in ROM Arkanoid - no title text, ball is "hollow" ring instead of shaded solid-grey. Didn't play too far in, maybe more. Paperboy - no intro/intermission graphic with headline page of newspaper. Gameplay seems the same. Star Force - Title screen completely different, Gameplay different (graphics slightly, music, enemy layout) Karate Kid - no immediately discernible difference in ROM
I'd link to the auction but I think it was yanked after the fact. Anyways glad I got them. They were $130 shipped.

I wanted to check out your frame so I could see what my options were for framing my own.
I don't hate you as much now that I have my own, too!

Nope...it was $19.90 after shipping
And congrats on the 5-screw set, Dan
