Ebay bidder question

So, lets say you're selling an item on ebay.  This said item has a bidder who is currently the high bidder and the item is already going for a price over some BIN's of the same item on ebay.  The bidder is new to Ebay (14Nov11) and has ZERO feedback.

What do you do?

  • I'd just let it run then if they don't pay you can offer it to the next highest bidder.
  • I'd let it ride. But you could always message the bidder and see his how good his communication is. If his communication is good and he types with decent English, I wouldn't worry.
  • Just let it ride and wait to see if he pays
  • Thanks fellas.

As for offering it to the next highest bidder, no one ever accepts a second chance offer. At least I've always been O-fer. And I don't think I've ever accepted a second chance offer from a seller.

I did email him this morning asking him to confirm his interest in the game. If he responds then I'll worry less. He's a U.S. bidder.
  • Probably the best thing you can do man. I had this happen with a netbook about a week ago. Might just be some late night ego inspired bid warring. New members tend to get caught up in that pretty easily. Hope all goes well.
  • Let it ride man. New guys gotta get started somewhere, good luck.
  • So it turns out that the asshole I was worried about was the one that didn't pay in the end. I should have gone with my gut and just cancelled his bids. Fucker.....
  • Don't feel bad dude, nothing was lost but time but not even that if you learned a lesson from it. I've got a guy on the 4th day of stalemating me on payment. Guy has been a member since Dec 09 and made only 2 purchases, I smell BS.
  • File a case, that's fucked.

I did that yesterday.   I have to wait 4 days before I can close the case MYSELF and get my listing and final value fees.  It's just a hassle is all.
  • Ebay is a learning experience. You couldn't have known the guy wasn't going to pay; just block him and move on.

Unfortunately, you will eventually get burned using ebay. I sold a Banjo Kazooie NFR to a person in Canada, shipped via 1st class.

Normally international is priority only (USPS only offers confirmation on international priority). Buyer asked for cheaper shipping.

Guy said he didn't get it and Paypal sided with him (even though I purchased the shipping through paypal).

I'm out $50. It sucks, a lot. Be persistent and learn from your mistakes.

    Good luck with your sales.
