How do I delete unwanted folders?

in Help Wanted!
When I go to the "Manage Folders" tab and then select the red X mark to try to delete unwanted folders, it gives me a confirmation msg but then nothing happens - the folders remain.

Any ideas? Seems like I had trouble with this a year ago also. Is this an ongoing bug or am I missing something?

    No help.  
    Due to the fact that my OCD is flaring out of control, I will now be

    Did you delete all of the items in that folder first, maybe that's the problem? But then you said it gave you a confirmation, so maybe its glitching. There was one point a couple years ago when I was moving folders around and every time that I bumped a folder up or down it'd not just go one space but sometimes two or three spaces up or down, I solved it only by deleting every one of them and starting over, extreme measure but then I do stuff like that all the time.

    Yes, he does! I pretty much figured he would be the only one who could help anyways. I just needed that prize to lure him out of the shadows.
