Fake N64 boxes?

Are there people who sell fake N64 boxes? there is a seller on ebay who is selling another rare box 2 a month after he just sold the exact one and i checked the feedbacks and it did sell. Was wondering if there is a way to determine if its a fake? dont want to pay 45$ for a fake box worth nothing.

I dont know what a fake box would look like, but there are repro boxes out there.

 It is not the same picture. The one that sold already has a small tear in the upper right hand corner of the box. The one currently being sold has no such tear.

yeah look at the rumble pack logo, it's defenately not the same. as far as i'm concerned, i've never seen a n64 box repro yet, but im pretty sure you would notice it right away.

You can tell one of a few ways if it's fake. All require having it in your hands though.



Compare texture and grade of paper stock. New stuff tends to be glossier, smoother, and has a bright white interior color instead of dull composite grey.



Check seam for uneven adhesive and edge to edge folds.



When in doubt, don't buy it.
