Overcharged on shipping
Just bought 4 boxes on ebay, but the seller made it so you had to buy each thing individually. i made sure i talked to him first and he said he would refund the difference since all 4 boxes = 21.20$ shipping (or 5.30 each) and i expected 6-7$ for everything.
After i bought the first item i realized there was a cart option to buy it all at once so i added the other 3 and bought them. The guy sends me an email saying since i bought one of the boxes outside of the 4 that he is charging me twice, once for the 3 and another 5.30 for the 1 box.
is there some dumb ebay policy i dont know about which wont let him refund the shipping and just toss the 1 box in the box with the other 3, and use the tracking from those 3 on the 1 box too???? cuz i feel like im being ripped off here, the box is not worth 7.30$ not by a long shot!!!!

So there is no reason he has to charge extra shipping, just $1 to cover fees. But if the box ends up weighing more, it could jump in price for him.
A package I recently sent was slightly over a pound, and I had to pay $3 more.
If you paid for one item separately, and then the other 3 together, he's covering his ass with Paypal. He'll have to ship a package with a tracking number for each payment transaction. Two payments=two packages=two unique tracking numbers.
so he cant link the same tracking to the package? they were bought seconds apart from each other cuz i didnt figure out the "cart" option.....if i didnt figure that out i would of bought all one at a time and ide be even madder right now
^^ Thats the diff between a RESELLER and a SELLER on Ebay. Once your feedback is obtained, they don't look back. A seller would gladly combine shipping, just glad you bought one of the auctions. A reseller will get what they can, or come at you with absurd wording, then relist the item if it doesn't go down how they want. But that's what all this hobby is about it seems....money....I guess.
i agree, i gave him a not so nice email relating to common sense, not hard to just toss it in the box with the others, i thought feedback meant something on ebay i guess not. well i know he wont get a positive reply score from me, probably neutral. Oh well, c'est la vie.
Well arnt you in Canada? your location says Ontario so the 5.20 Small fate rate price would not apply to you.
Yeah those flat rates aren't international, they OFFER international service but not for $5.20 . I know for a fact since I got stuck with $30~ difference (not in my favor..) in postage to Tajikistan for a laptop I sold a few weeks back.
To be eligible for seller protection it's like CaptainMorganDrinker said, different DC#'s per item. He/She could of however combined the items into a special auction for you with a set shipping price reflecting your quote. That would of been acceptable I believe.
Just to double check I got a quote on a small flat rate box from VA (23228) to canada, it's $11.95 vs $5.20 domestic. Make sure you adjust the drop down box to reflect the appropriate country and give a zip code or else it won't give you accurate quotes.
Could ask for first class postage but it will take longer. Remember, you get what you pay for. I'm on week 4 of waiting for a box of boxes from Canada myself so the extra $2 means a lot sometimes X_X.

Depends if he got burned by combining stuff before. An easier solution (if the seller was worried about the paypal thing) would be to refund the separate payment and send a combined invoice. Seems like it all worked itself out anyway.
