Top Loader problem

in Help Wanted!
Someone gave me a Top Loader they found in their garage.  When I hook it up, all I get is rolling gray bars.  I've tried different power supplies, different RF adapters and Paul's cardboard trick.  Any advice?  And sorry for the crap pic, I only have my cell phone today.  Thanks.

    If you put in a game and try to play do you get any sounds like it's playing it?

    No sounds at all and I tried a few games. I also tried an 8-Bit Xmas cart and only some of the lights came on, I think it was just the blue or the green.

    cardboard not working = sucky.



    Could still be a dirty pin connector, did the cardboard come out dirty? see anything in the pin connector?



    have you looked at the board? anything wrong on the inside?

    The cardboard looked ok and the pin connector looks good. I have taken it apart and it was pretty dirty on the inside. I got rid of most of the dust and bugs, but it looks like moisture must have gotten in cause some of the metal looks corroded. Here's a couple of pics with a better camera.

    I had the same issue! If you open it up the video box is probably fried. Pop the little metal lid off with the sticker on it. Chances are, it smells fried. The video mod may fix the issue. I have not tried it with my system yet. Hope this helps.
