Nintendo stock cards

They are 2 sided cardboard signs. They have the box front and side on one side and the back with one side on the other. They looks very similiar to the retail box art but its a small % bigger and some of the art is a bit different. Most of Nintendo logos are bigger. Look how the logos are different on the Mario 2. Some of the logos are HUGE on others.

Never seen these before and didn't know I had them. I found em while I was digging for another item I sold recently. I have about 60 of them. Wonder how many games had these. Anyone seen these before?

I saw them before at a video store that sold games new back in the day. You'd flip through all the cards to see which one you wanted to buy, that way they could keep the stock safe from would-be thieves. That's how I chose my big present for my 12th birthday, and coincidentally, it was SMB2! Man, I haven't seen that card in *ages*...

The mike ditka football I had was plastic. Those only showed the front and the back. No side. Plus they were identical to the released boxes. These are cardboard and a bit different. You sure you saw these? The cardboard ones with the sides shown.



Hey you know what I have doubles of Mario 2 ! I think its the only double in the stack.

I think these may have been from like Toys'r'us as well, i remember the video game isle had those, for some reason, i remember a wall of those things. they were all vertically stacked attached to the wall and swung like doors. it was like that for the whole isle, there was space in between them. I think they were housed in plastic. for some reason i think they flipped up too. just a thought. is the art on the back upside down?

No the back art is not upside down. I don't ever recall seeing these. Only the plastic ones. Some places had a plastic holder which would sandwich a retail box. Some video store still have these in the porn section where they cram a lot of movies into a small room.....er so I'm told.

Weren't these the cards that came in the circular upright stands, the ones that had a swivel base? I think someone on here has one of these stands.

I find it strange they have the vertical side art on these cards. If you have a sqoon one i'll take it.

Yeah, the Toys R Us ones were generally cardboard, but put in a plastic sleeve to hang from the wall. They had an upside down back and no side art (and were made by a company called VidPro, in case anyone was curious).

I've never seen yours before. Very interesting.

I got some of his first "wave" of dummy boxes. He said they were sent to him by NOA, and some of them are on nice cardstock. Some are just color copies. These are kind of a mess from having been on a shelf; some of the styro is breaking up, and the tape holding some of them together is yellowed and old. But they did come shipped in a master case for Zombies Ate My Neighbors SNES which is cool

The ones I saw were laminated and had the name written vertically on the right side.  I can't say for sure if they were the same as these or just cut up boxes, but if they were just cut up boxes, why would the dude have included the box's spines?  My guess would be that these were made and sold to stores especially for this purpose.  Interesting pieces nonetheless...
