NES Top Loader on a HD TV

I recently have been required to move my NES top loader to my Toshiba 1080p tv and it has absolutely no sound.  When I plug in my standard Super NES into the same RF connection it works fine.  I also have a 720p Dynex tv that the top loader works on but has such a horrible controller response delay it is impossible to play enjoyably. 

Is there any fix to this so I can play my top loader or do I need to hunt down a grey box NES so I can use AV hookups?

    The toaster has a lot better picture on high resolution screens, it's worth the small price imo. If you want the ease of the toploader, get an av output mod for it, but the cost will jump up a bit. Your sound should work though on any TV, not sure why it doesn't.
