Acceptable Levels of Room Humidity

Every morning I wake up with the worst dry throat possible, and I've been looking into getting a humidifier for my room to solve this. Problem is my bookshelf is loaded with CIBS, and only about half of them have box protectors, so I'm wondering - is there a certain safe level to which I can set this humidifier to where it won't ruin my CIBS? or do I have to find a new place to store them / box protect them all , as I really like them the way they are on display now.

  • Holy mind fuck!

I was JUST thinking of making this thread. Then i was like, Im lazy. And no more then 2 SECONDS later I see this in current threads.

    Thats fucked!

I've been getting bloody noses from dry sinuses lately and was debating getting a humidifer too but I'm afraid for my collection and the thousands of dollars in electronics in my room.

I was thinking though, how much humidity would it produce as opposed to say the levels of humidity in july or in more humid areas of the country.

I think it would be ok but I'd like to hear what others think.
  • I live in Florida and I have always wondered how bad it must be for games down here. Although I've seen first hand that outside the boxes will get badly damaged over time. I know the humidity inside my house is probably 60% or so, which is about where you want it I believe for the boxes, its moist enough so that they don't dry out, and they don't get over moistened.

quit having cyber sex with me and sexting me your testes.

  • I knew a thread about moistening orifices would lure Adam out.

I think keeping your items in their driest conditions would be best. Moisture leads to corrosion and over the years may cause some sort of damage to the internals of your cartridges. Your boxes and manuals might also get that "attic" smell too.

Well duh. I am a heat seeking moisture missile.
  • I'd like to think 7 posts in a row without any real content is some kind of record, but most likely not even close, lol. Anyways, I think I'm just going to end up getting box protectors for them all, maybe sell off a few CIBS which I don't really need. This dryness sucks.
