Good milestone achieved today. My Genesis collection has now reached 500 unique titles. The majority of the titles are boxed or CIB, but the 500 mark is for individual distinct titles at least cart only. I didn't count Mega Hits or Sega Classic games as a second release, nor did I count both cardboard and clamshell as 2 separate releases. According to my SegaAge collection, this is what my collection looks like right now:

Congratulations, over half way there now. Do you have any photos of them? I bet they would look spectacular displayed as I know you only buy games to a specific condition.

That's incredible. Pics are mandatory upon completion!
Thanks guys. I'll add pictures when I can. I don't have a good display set up so many of them are on the floor in rows since I don't want to stack them. Maybe when my next round of games comes in the mail and I swap out some cases I'll snap a few pics
In the past two+ months I've managed to nearly finish my Neo CD, Working Designs, Genesis (the ones I wanted), and US Master System collections. Each of them still have some small things to improve, like getting a replacement case or insert, but they're basically all done.
Well I have been working on my Genesis collection pretty hard core lately. I have cleaned out a lot of doubles, triples, and of course those multiple copies of PGA Tour 2 for Genesis and I am getting up there in size. Here is what my Sega Age collection says:
Recently picked up CIB Golden Axe Warrior for the master system. Master System games are pretty rare in my area but i'm pushing ever forward to completing the set.

SMS gets little love in NA it seems. Finding games in the wild is VERY difficult.
Got me a copy of Castle of Illusion CIB, near mint just the other day, very cheap as well compared to all other ended ones.
Finally Finished Hang Tabs!! Every Genesis game in my collection now has Hang Tabs, all in the correct case style! I don't know why but this is really exciting to me, no more buying dollar sports games just for minty Hang Tabs. Now I dont't have to jack them and I can finally sell my doubles with Hang Tabs intact, it's always hard to sell a nice ass minty game without a Tab. Yeah buddy!
Wow that is a mighty impressive looking bunch of games you have there. I always went for quantity over quality but quality does look fantastic when shown like that, well done.

Heh, keep in mind too Dane, that ampplays is maybe 20 games or less from a full Genny set.
Well done on the hang-tabs. I keep my games without hang-tabs segregated off to the side. One day they'll be integrated into the collection. One day.

Yes indeedy, my words still stand as they look more impressive when in good condition and in relation to quantity plus I never had a full set of any region but had surpassed the numbers in any one given set by quite a bit.

this is awesome. if i ever get heavy into genesis collecting (i was going to ditch my CIBs for an everdrive, but i like actually having the games because i'm materialistic) i for sure will go out of my way to get cases with hang tabs.
and did i read molotov correctly? you have 700+ genesis games with hang tabs? or do you have a mix of boxed and loose genesis games?

I have an almost complete set, just need 11 more games and only six of them come with hang tabs. I have enough extra hang tabs pulled aside so when I do get them I'm golden, so I guess I can say I have a completed hang tab set!! I'm not sure how many hang tabs exactly their is with all the cardboard but I plan to count them all. With all the variants I have I'm sure it's over 600. Oh and thanks man!! Still super stoked as this was a painstaking process to complete!
I picked up the only "Shiny ass silver box" Imagic game for Atari I didn't own yesterday... now I have a whole row of chrome boxes in the 2600 section of my game room
I just counted. I have 630 total console games(not including handhelds which pushes the total to 664). About 175 of those are loose carts for NES, N64 and Genesis. I have 39 Saturn games. I think I'm going to try to get to 100 by New Year's day or maybe I'll just grab Panzer Dragoon Saga. I'm kind of undecided since I pushed collecting down on priority a few months back.
I'm guessing my milestone would have been passing 500 but I didn't even know I did it. As for value I guess it's Power Blade 2 but that milestone was passed when I was a kid.
I have now officially hit 500 CIB games (509 to be exact). I've had more than 500 carts, manuals, and boxes for a little bit now, but those numbers included odd manuals and boxes.
Current numbers:
548/705 carts, 524/705 manuals, 560/705 boxes
I'm just about at 550 carts and a recent order should bring in 7 more CB games (plus a lot of extras haha), so I guess I'll skip that milestone.
My collection isn't all quite in one place, but here are some pics:
Except for the top shelf, everything is two deep. Everything on this shelf either has a hangtab or is cardboard. I use EA games (or games that never came with hangtabs) as the bottom row, so I can stack games on top.
More cardboard and all of my Asian version stuff. All of the Korean games are kept in a storage box in the basement. The Asian games may end up there too. The bottom shelf has a lot of cardboard games, two deep with more stacked horizontally on top, but they're not really visible.
I don't want to stack the cases horizontally and damage them, so they are all right sideup like this hang-tabs peeking up.
None of these have hangtabs. Everything in the back is CIB. Almost everything in the front is just box only. Some manuals that I don't have carts or boxes for. I keep all CB games in a separate box not pictured. There are like 20.
Namco and Bluebox Sega Classic. 2 of the Namco games are missing hang-tabs.
With this item, lovingly packaged and shipped to me by Galacticlint, I now consider my US Sega Genesis + Expansion collection to be complete:
707 US release Genesis titles, all CIB. Miracle Piano and X-Band Modem are included but excludes Outback Joey which I am not really concerned about. A few are missing posters or other pack-in items but I will collect those as I can. Also, I decided to only keep one of each title, so I got rid of my Classics, Mega Hits, and duplicate cardboard box games.
14 Genesis reproduction games in cases (some with instructions)
37 US release Sega 32x titles, all CIB. This list includes all the 32x games, the 5 Sega CD/32x games, and 1 DarXide repro which does not include instructions.
151 US release Sega CD titles, all CIB. This list includes all the jewel case games (most with foam and all cases in good shape), at least one of each of the pack-in variants, and a few cardboard variants.
I have roughly 50% of the US release SMS games but even though I can play them using the Powerbase Converter, I'm not counting them as part of the Genesis family (or interested in having them all).
So there it is. I started this year with the goal of having only 50 titles left to collect, and have completed the collection with a few months to spare. Incidentally, I finalized the deal with Galacticlint for the last game on my birthday - can't think of a better present.
Congrats, and I now have a small milestone to announce.
With the arrival of my package from galacticlint, I now have passed 605 games, which leaves me with less than 100 remaining in my goal of the 705 set (no miracle or outback joey, though I'll get those later if possible). I have a few more things coming in and some transactions to conclude, but I'll post my list of needed titles soon!
It's a small milestone but my first one nonetheless, with a recent package I received I now have 25 CiB Game Gear games and over 50 titles altogether. Considering the Game Gear is practically non-existent where I live and every CiB game I bought came from either Quebec and east or other countries (USA, UK, France and Germany) I am happy with it. I should probably slow down though, my little cabinet is now completely full of games.
