Dragon Warrior Label variant?

Okay, I was going through some of my loose and CIB NES titles and I found this:

The one on the left (yellow) is my loose dragon warrior game, and the one on the right (brown) is my minty copy I had that was complete in the box.

So is it a label variant? Or is it because the one on the right is SO minty in the box, that it hasn't seen too much of the air causing it to turn bright yellow over time from oxidation or something? (Kinda doubt that)

    Label variation. I think there are three label variations for this game if I remember correctly?

    I knew that was going to be the next question, haha. I really dont remember, I just had that in my mind that there was another variant.

    I believe it's a lighter yellow, darker yellow, and mustard colored.

    Thanks guys! So I guess that means I'm missing a darker yellow maybe.

    I always thought it was just due to sun damage?

    Neither of them are sun damaged, since my loose one is the one I grew up with (And kept away from the sun) and the CIB one was super minty, so I doubt that one could be damaged from sun/oxidation/whatever.

    If there's is 3 variants, would somebody please take a pic of all three or post a link to a pic?

    Yeah, it would be really weird for just one color to change that much while the rest of the label's pigments remained the same. Hmmm, I need to go check my CIB...

    Yeah, it's a variant. There's a gold label and a "butterscotch" colored label. As for a third variant, I'm not so sure if that exists.

    Ahh, thanks!! I'll have to keep a eye out for a 3rd variant then! Seems that I'm missing the middle carrot colored one.

    Yeah, I thought I had all three until I saw your pic and that one. I don't have the gold, instead the yellow and two mildly different color variances of the orange. We're helping each other out here!

    I wonder how mild, cuz we might be looking at 4 different variants then!

    Hard to tell by the pics, even with 16.2mp, but the yellow (top) is obviously different from the slightly darker orange (middle) and slightly lighter orange (bottom). I had to put them out of order as the first pic seemed to blend them all together. I'm pretty sure the two oranges are just from dye lot variances, and not another color altogether. The gold looks to be the most notably different.

    Interesting, thanks for the pics. Man, I love this site... I find something new all the time here. Hopefully I can collect all the different variants now (unless somebody unearths yet a new one! lol)
