Out and about the local thrift stores and picked these up for next to nothing:

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 CIB and Beastie Boys cd

Haven't played #3 yet so Im kinda excited about this one

Mail day arrival and a few other deals.   This was from a few days ago 

Goldeneye for N64 was $0.99 Probably a sign that I would snag a sealed copy of the new one for a great deal in the not too near future, which I did  

Then Picked up Metriod from bestbuy for $5 or whatever it was last week.

Wandered into my local thrift store and they had 21 NES carts there, most with sleeves but most were crappy titles - So I told them they were all only worth about $2 a cart, I kinda know the lady there now because Im in there every day so she did $3.50/cart which was ok seeing as I made my money back on the 1st 2

Found a Donkey Kong version SNES system and a CIB SNES controller at my local thrift store today!

The boxes are in very good condition, the system is really clean and the CIB controller is mint

Thought I was going to be picking up a nice CIB Balloon Fight I found on craigs, but when I got there it was one of those stupid cut-up custom rental boxes...

So into my google maps "Video games" and a few promising results pop up near by.

Stop in to the first one and this is what I found It was about half the ebay rate and got another 20% off their asking price.

Now I think have an extra Cart and Manual if anyone is interested.

Im out in LA so I roam around and just try and hit em up if Im within a mile or so while running errands.

I also live across the street from one so I go there at least 3 times a week It did surprise me to find another SNES in the box like that though!

It's all about donator location, timing, and having less to no scumbag goodwill picking resellers in the area. You're just very lucky to be close and in a spot with a good amount of retro stuff that just gets dumped.  I have 3 goodwills within 10mi of here and maybe once every 3-4mo or more they'll get in a good PS1 title, non sports game, or a small pile of common nes or n64 titles around here.  Here just you find trash sports games and $1 budget garbage for the PS1/2 or xbox mostly.

I am so jealous. Man, just once I'd like to find something at a Goodwill. Anything. Give me Duck Hunt just so I have some hope, but no. Nothing. Ever.

Picked up some great stuff this past week - Rounding out my Mario games collection to 90 carts 71 manuals and 55 boxes!

Most of it was from LA, was waiting for a dinner and had 3 hours to burn so I hit up about 5 shops

Mario superstar Baseball came from ebay - $9 shipped

Strikers was from gamestop - $8.50

Zodas Revenge, Batman Returns, and Palamedes were from a game shop - $9 for the 3

Yoshis Safari and Yoshi Cookie were $5 each from a local place.

Not a steal but definatley not a bad price at all! 

Next up is Mario Golf advance tour and Dr. Mario from ebay, less than $10 each CIB 

And last but not least, a 25 cart buy from ebay - Just took em out of the box so their still really dirty...

Got some fun stuff in the mail today!

Mario party (box and manual), Paper Mario (box and manual), Super Mario 64 (box and manual), and the collectors coin thingy were from an ebay lot - $30 shipped, thought that was pretty good.

Mario Party Advance (CIB) was seperate $13 shipped, great price imo, but came kinda crushede due to crappy shipping. eh, oh well lol.  Still happy over all!

Think I made out pretty well on this craigs deal - $140 down from $160.

60 carts, 2 systems, zapper, 2 new 72 pin connecters, 5 controllers, advantege stick, power pad, a wireless controller and tons of wires and stuff:

Got a call from a local guy who said, "was about to post this onlie but I figured id give you a call first and see if you want them". He had just spent a few hours going through all his hundreds of games to make a set of 1 of everything he had for the lot!  This is what I came home with  And he threw in that toploader with a gun, controller, and cables.  I have had the most fun ever organizing and comparing all these to the ones in my collection! MOST FUN EVER

Thanks again NA for helping me make the call to grab this!

 

I got a text from someone last night saying they have some game stuff and was wondering if I wanted to buy it. Always interested I say, so he gives me a call and says he has about 100 n64 carts, a few consoles and some other stuff. I didnt really want to spend more than my planned $200 so I told him Id probably only want the games and Id come check it out. When I get there everything was neatly organized into stacks of sports/racing, non-sports, and doups. Wow I thought, that makes it simple. Then I spy the Gren DK system, AND the Smoked 64 system, needless to say I wanted them too now because I didn't have those variants, not that I collect them... yet. Then the guy asks me If I was sure I didn't want to buy any of the other stuff, well I thought Id better look at everything or I end up wondering what if.... 

 

So he takes me into the garage and pulls out a bunch of boxes, the first box was full of gameboy cases, each one had like 3 gameboys in it! Another box was full of NES stuff and I really needed extra controllers so I could sell off a few of my extra consoles. Well I wanted it all now lol. I told him I only had $300.
