I think the Street Fighters should count if you use one of the characters added to the game. Example: Street Fighter 2, you might use Chun-Li or Ryu, in Super Street Fighter 2, you might use Vega or M. Bison, and in Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers, you might use Cammi or Fei Long. If you were to use any of the original 8, I'd say yea, that's not much of a "new" game or "different", but if you utilize the new characters, I'd count it
I do agree with the ports on different consoles though. I just wanted to see how you were clarifying it, otherwise I'd be able to knock out 8 different versions of Mortal Kombat in about an hour lol

That's a good point about the different characters... but that's almost the same as going through Mario Kart 150cc as Mario then again as Luigi and saying you beat two different games. That's the way I see it, but I totally get what you're saying, as they're not available in other games where as in my example, they're both in the same game.

Exactly man. Besides, Mario Kart is so bad ass, you should beat it twice anyway

Even if you have to beat it on 50 CC, it's still one hell of a fun game. Just do 1 circuit a day. That'll take you 4 days and can be one of your sleepers to keep in the pile just in case

I dunno if I'd consider 50cc beating it. Kinda lame, don't'ch'ya think? It's a good idea to make Mario Kart a sleeper, though. I'm thinking about tackling Battle Kid as #1. Start off strong!
Wouldn't be very smart considering I don't think I can do it, either. Then again, I would consider it for you just because you're from Finland. I love that country...
Keep in mind that 2012 is a leap year so that's 266 games. However, the world ends on the 21st of December of next year so that may complicate what you could consider a "year"
^Actually, there will be 366 days in 2012, so that's 366 games, not 266.
Also... I knew someone would bring up the whole 2012 thing eventually. It was only a matter of time. Psh, I'll just play through the apocalypse, no big deal.
So, I think I'll make a small YouTube video a day. Maybe with a little bit of footage playing the game and with the end-game screen or credits or whatever.
^ That's a lot of work + time wasted that could be spend on playing games
Honestly, anyone could say that they beat X game on X day, but really, they'd just be cheating themselves. While video proof would be cool, it's unrealistic to make a video on each day per day, with the amount of time it would take to record + process / edit... but if you have that kind of time to kill, do it up man. Better post a link to said videos/channel
Sounds rough. I hate dying on a game I'm really good at. Even if I'm at the end, I almost always rage-quit just because I know I can do better. I feel your pain.
That's unfortunate about your mom. Are you able to get your own place or do you have to stay there to take care of her?
[Proof is up on YouTube: I know my webcam is crap and my shyness really shows in the video, but that's okay, 'cause I had wolf pajama pants on. Beast.]
This morning I beat Mega Man 2, Super Mario World, and this afternoon I beat the new Mortal Kombat (Story Mode, I figured that'd count towards beating it, but I also beat the ladder as well).

Nice!! I need to start practicing on my next game, I think. I want it to be one I've never beaten before.
Demon Sword! I beat it first day owning it, and I'm not all that great. (I got some solid tips from YT examples, though!)
The first time I played Demon Sword, I got a Game Over on the final stage. No continues, if I can recall - I had to go all the way back to the beginning. I don't think I played it again.
So just out of curiosity, are you tracking the date by the current time, or do you have to sleep for the "day" to end? I just ask because one of my friends goes by his sleep pattern, whereas I count it as the next day if I beat the game after midnight. If you count it when the clock rolls past midnight, it opens the door to playing something before midnight and beating it after...kinda like how I beat Snake's Revenge at about 1 am (making it Jan. 2 for my personal list), but most of the work was done through the evening.
I'm not actively doing it, I'm focussing on first-time completions, maybe the occasional no-death run, etc. I also tend to switch consoles every couple months. If you look through the blog on my NA profile, I have a year-by-year listing of my first time completions (plus any significant runs I've managed, mostly no-death runs or multiple quests). Even my best year (2010) has huge gaps between games, and a ton of filler games. I just thought it was kinda cool that so far I've managed to do a game a day, albeit accidentally

I'm actually trying to decide that right now, honestly... It seems like I could just stay up later to "cheat" my way through beating it a certain day, but at the same time, that may be required sometime... As of now, I'm going to try to beat each game by midnight, but we'll see where my convictions lie once the time comes, I guess.
That'd be cool to see other people going for this as well. And, Wiz, beating games you haven't beat yet is certainly challenge. What other titles are you looking at?
Also... I just beat Robodemons. Somehow, that ended up being Day 2's game. o.O YouTube link coming soon...
Well, if you go to my profile, I'm using my NA blog function to document each year's completions. Right now I have over 80 unique games listed, and counting. Also, I'm sitting at 4 new listings for 2012, which matches my entire output for 2009 Just a funny little side note

Oh, cool! I've never really looked at anyone's profile before. I should probably follow suite to keep track of this little shindig.

Anyway, taking into account leap year and Dec. 21st you have exactly 356 games to complete in 356 days.
Today is day 1, so better get started. Start with Battletoads or Silver Surfer!
Deleted post...I am really in a bad mood and said inapproprate things.
