  • That's a good idea cartman. It would def be helpful. If anyone wants to post their experiences I can add it to the sticky.
  • I'm looking to make an offer on this SM3, but I would like to hear what you all think concerning the seal.

    Thanks for your input.
  • That's NA user guillavoie , PM him through here and perhaps he can work on price with you. He only sells legit stuff so no need to worry about that!
  • Appreciate the quick response and info Mr. Bond.

    Thanks.

Sure it's not that hard for everyone to do it him/her-self but still, why have people go through the process over and over when not really needed? The information could be made into a sticky-thread for everyone to see and determine the right option in 1 sec.

IMO I don't see the need for the DB. All you need to do is measure and add if the game is not standard sized. It wouldn't hurt but I don't see the need.

  • Yes, almost all normal video games fit under the standard sizing. You only need to worry about custom sizes on "Big Box" style games, which should be pretty obvious due to their packaging. Not a big deal.
  • How about Japanese or those French blisterpack-sealed games, are those not included under "standard"?

And sure it's not that hard to measure (just like you pointed out mlbfan10), but it would still be way more convenient to just come here/somewhere else instead of having to bother with that big N64 console (or whatever). Besides mistakes do happen, what if someone fills out something wrong? This would never have to happen if someone who has already done it provided the masurment specifics.

  • Yes that is true. Though alot of this you don't have to worry about. VGA will check what casing size the games or systems need and let you know. I know people who don't put anything for casing size and VGA just informs them of the casing size and cost.
  • Correct Jason VGA will determine the correct size even if you leave it blank or put the incorrect size also.
  • But why would they bother with having you fill it out in the first place if they double check either way?

When they let me know that i have written the wrong measurments (or that i haven't written anything), will this happen over e-mail before or after they actually proceed to encase it?
  • Before you pay the invoice which is before any part of the grading process occurs. They will email or call. If outside the US email for sure.
  • I don't know, seems kind off hassling to go through this re-route of a correcting process instead of just giving them the right information right away. Besides they probably already have their hands full as it is.

  • Just wanted to say thanks to all who contributed to this thread, it was really helpful! Just got my first game back from them, wasn't as high a grade as I hoped, but still really pleased with the process. Now, to send more!

  • Not sure if this has been asked before but is there a list/database of all the grades that games have received? If not is there just a thread here with a list of NA members graded games?
  • VGA has been working on a population report for a few years just hasn't went public yet, i don't think. All you have to do is ask them anything you want to know.
  • Oh? And they're happy to give out the grading details? I wonder if they would send me the whole database
  • I am a little confused... does VGA ONLY grade factory sealed items? i'm pretty sure i've seen cart only graded in a picture somewhere? do they grade opened CIB games?
  • hey alll you VGA freaks, as far as anyone knows will they do artbooks with a game? Say Xenoblade and the pre order artbook? Im thinkin that would look sexy as hell slabbed up with the sealed game.
  • I'm sure you could get your artbook graded. It may not be from the VGA lot though, you may need to go through their comic graders. They have a different grading system though.

I've seen them do custom displays before, so yea, you can probably get that done (and I agree, would look awesome).
  • I could have swore I saw a VGA graded strategy guide before, so yes, aything is possible.
  • You did jone, it was the dark souls CE player's guide hard back. It was graded by a member on SGH.
  • Just sent in 54 games to get graded, wish me luck guys!!!
  • ^ without your help, I am sure I would have sent in some crappy stuff, lol
  • Have a question about sending in my first game to get graded. I own a couple VGA items and love them, and now am going to finally go for my first submission. I have an NES game that I just got in the mail from an awesome member here and it's packed extremely well in one of the smaller priority boxes. Here's my question: Would it be ok if I filled out the submission form etc, and put the already packed game inside of another box to ship it to VGA? I'd like to minimize any touching I have to the game atm, and would prefer to literally just ship it out to VGA in the package I received.

Yep! They recommend to double box it.
