Have a question about sending in my first game to get graded. I own a couple VGA items and love them, and now am going to finally go for my first submission. I have an NES game that I just got in the mail from an awesome member here and it's packed extremely well in one of the smaller priority boxes. Here's my question: Would it be ok if I filled out the submission form etc, and put the already packed game inside of another box to ship it to VGA? I'd like to minimize any touching I have to the game atm, and would prefer to literally just ship it out to VGA in the package I received.
Yep! They recommend to double box it.
Thanks man, appreciate it. I'll probably have a couple more questions in here before I send it off haha.
I have the release of Section Z that contains the map (non Rev-A, without cardboard hangtab). Is it possible to get this variation on the label, like the games with cardboard hangtab?
So I have been looking at my games that have been graded 85+ that I have received from other traders on here. I noticed one of my 85+ games has a big scratch on the front in the plastic, two inches long, 3 corners sticking out, and a barely visible crease on the top. When I was sending in my games, I would have figured a game like this would have received an 80, is that really what qualifies for an 85+? If that is the case, I have a lot of stuff that would go gold, and everything I sent in, is for sure gold. Please let me know because I remember hearing if one of the corners is poking out, that makes it a silver...
Once again there is no rule. It depends on how bad the corner poke is. Sometimes it's slight and barely noticeable. Sometimes it's horribly whitened and the wrap has a gaping hole. Sometimes there's denting / creasing on the corner as well.
There is no "corner poke = automatic 85" rule, or we'd all be expert graders ourselves. You rate a game in it's entirety, not just on one corner.
Or what does that usually mean? I guess I am just curious to know what exactly constitutes a drop in grade? I thought one crease would drop it to silver. Could it be possible, if there are two minor flaws, that would still be gold? This game has, in my opinion, 5 flaws, and it's still gold. Just curious because I am debating on sending in some more games if that is the case.
ALSO! I have a sealed Mario 25th anniversary DSI XL console. great condition, except it has sticker residue on it (ie, I tried to take the sticker off, but all that came of was the top portion, so it still has the bottom portion on. if I touch it it feels like the paper part of the sticker, not the sticky part), and I am scared to try and remove it since the cardboard case can be damaged. What should I do?

No one knows? To add this variation on the label, similar to for example "gold" or "black" seal. Is it possible?

Well man, I've had much better games than the one you mention that were near flawless, looked like 85+ and I got an 85, man was I pissed to read your statement there. Seems like you got lucky. IMO, that should be 85 and no higher. But that's the nature of the grading beast I guess.

They will recognize the cardboard hangtab and the seal of quality but not the REV-A or code variations. The CB HT is only listed if it is present so your label would read: 1987 Capcom NES - Gold Nintendo Seal - Section Z .... and that is all.
Yeah, I've always wanted to grade it anyway. And I just got a sealed Tecmo Bowl that is probabaly an 80 80+ also, not grading material, so I would like to free up the Acrylic case for it, and have the 1942 graded, because I think it's worth it for that one.
Anyone else think those VGA cases are too tight? I know the 1942 will come out easy, cause it went in easy, but I'm just hoping that the Tecmo Bowl will go in. I already have a few games stuck in these things for good. It's a good thing they aren't grade worthy games.
How do they confirm if a console is brand new? I have an open box gbc that may or may not have been played, do they look at the contacts or what? I was wondering the same thing about a NES that was open box, how do they make sure it has never been played?
1) I've got a nice Warriors for the PS2 but the outer seal has a price sticker and the rear has a security tag. Pretty sure I could remove both, but since it's a 10-year-old game, I am betting there will be a "relief" in the plastic where those stickers were anchored. Should I just not bother and sell it as a sealed game?

Yes, in my experiences, usually a couple subtle flaws can get 85+. 85+ is not flawless, otherwise it'd obviously be a higher grade.
This yep.
My question is : How do I open this case?
The NES one isn't for me so I don't want to break by forcing it.
Is it supposed to slide at the bottom?
God help a noob out lol.
edit: I opened the Earthbound one with ease, but the NES one is tricky.

There's one side unattached that will let you slide. You need to push out sorta hard though sometimes they're hard to move.
I suppose it's the same way as the Earthbound one: the bottom part slides out?
Edit: I forgot to edit after opening it... damn it was hard, I was scared to break it.

What is everyone's opinion on classic view? I might go that route, because it's not going to be a high grade.

no! and no!
clear view only for games! classic only for toys!
I kind of put it in the black box category, so old and rare, that a low grade isn't as big of a deal, kind of like the original Mega Man
Thanks Mr. Holly wood

I would grade it. There's a lot of interest in early Capcom games, especially the good ones and as you mentioned, it doesn't turn up every day sealed.
But yeah, Robin is right. Always go with the Clear View label with games.

2) Does VGA accept sealed PC games for grading?
