I'm going to get some higher res photos for you guys and see where that would rank. As for storage for something like this - I currently have it in my safe sitting on top of the base of the safe which is a felt-like material. Little to no light and cool temperatures, is that fine for the time being?
Here are the pics:
Power Blade 2:
If you look very closely there is a bit of scuffing and about two hair line scratches near bottom left of hang tab:
I'm also not 100% sure about this one but was contemplating getting this Metroid game graded as well:
Let me know what you guys think. I would only consider grading the Power Blade 2 if it can score 85 or higher which may be asking much.
Crap that's the best camera I have lol. For me this game is going to be an investment, that's why I don't want to sell it anytime soon. Would getting it graded to a 80/80+ hurt the value in the long run as it's not as minty as it could be or is it better to keep it raw?
Looking to achieve a gold grade here. The box is damn near perfect besides the defect shown on the front. Do you feel an 85+ is achieveable with that wear? The cellophane is not ripped in the area. Thanks in advance.
This copy was subbed and achieved 85+, I'm kind of baffled myself...
Can you guys give me some of your grading opinions on this game, let me know if you want more pics.. I want to sell this game and just wondering if I should throw a quick slab on it beforehand.
Hey folks. I don't typically collect sealed games, but I have had these two for a while in my collection. I thought it may be fun to see what you guys think they could possibly grade at. If you need more/different pics, just let me know. Both have an h-seam, so I believe both to be factory seals. I have no knowledge about collecting sealed games, but I can see why it appeals to some collectors.
Is that the same hard material as the VGA ones? What about the other alternatives? There's really no information on anything.
Yeah they are more or less the same casing, not identical but still a thick acrylic. They can be VERY tight though so you need to be careful when you put the game in. Not sure of any specific alternatives but I have heard the majority of the ones on eBay suck...
Sending out a different item than was originally sent in for a "re-grade" because VGA "screwed him".
I responded in the other thread. The OP already addressed the issue. You among others were standing pitch forks in hand before giving the OP a chance to respond. Not cool.
is there anything special I need to do or add to get a prototype NES cart graded? Do I need a special mention?
Also, does anyone know how they compare something that was sealed with no shrinkwrap against the ones that were? How does a scratch or tear on the shrinkwrap compare against a scratch on the box on a game that was not shrinkwrapped for grading purposes? If I compare a shrinkwrapped 8.5 against a non shrinkwrapped 8.5 would they look identical if I tore the shrinkwrap off the one, or how does that work exactly?
Thanks and sorry if this is already in here somewhere.. I did try to find it first!
Edit: A bit more info.. Basically I'm considering getting a bunch of my CAN version stuff graded, but since these were never shrinkwrapped, I'm a bit concerned that they will get terrible grades.. I mean they look great to me, but nothing like what a game looks like when you first take the wrap off
Could anyone help me out really quick? I bought a sealed game on ebay hoping it would be good enough to vga. It had only 2 pics, and they weren't very clear, but it was priced low so I jumped and got it. Hewever, when it arrived, it had a few light scratches on the front and a strange scuffing on the back. Is there any way to remove or lessen those? Bit of a long shot, but figured I'd at least check.
I need some help. Can someone let me know if this is legit or is a re-seal? On the front of the box when I tilt it under light I see a light indentation streak that appears to be on the artwork itself. The weird thing is I don't see the same streak pattern on the shrink wrap over the same spot. If the streak was in fact on the box somehow, wouldn't it make some type of marking or tear to the shrink wrap also? Has anyone else seen this before?
I can upload a few more pictures if need be, but there are also one set of vertical vent holes that pass over Diddy's face on the front side and 6 of the 8 corners seem to be perfectly sharp with no wear at all.
^There is supposed to be a searchable database in the future, but last I checked it hadn't gone live on their site yet. I believe all you can do right now is verify the serial numbers.
Kind of a general question here, but with more modern games (ie: DS), if only the shrink wrap is damaged, is it worth it to remove said wrap and get a qualified grade? I ask because I have a game that got moderately scuffed, but is otherwise perfect.

Personally I wouldn't grade anything Qualified. If you want to protect it then buy one of the cases, if you were thinking of selling I don't see the cost of grading being worth it for a Qualified DS game.

100% agreed on the PB2.

You can remove sticker residue with goo-gone and a Q-tip, but legitimate scratches / scuffs will not come off.

How does the recasing process work with a label that is blatantly wrong? I have a black label that was dubbed "greatest hits" on the VGA label.
Send them an email and ask them to recase and correct the label. It's pretty easy
