Has anyone ever seen a vga game with increments smaller than 5+or-? For example 92+ 94 etc... im curious because in the comic realm there can be large difference in price between a 9.0 and a 9.2. So why skip the smaller increments with videogames?
Hey all, was wondering if you experts could weigh in on this one for me (assuming I can get my images to load properly). I guess I want to know if it's worth getting graded in the first place, even though I have no plans at all to sell or trade it. Also maybe a guess from some experts what this might grade as? It seems to be in really really nice condition, the box has no flaws, nor do the seal/seams from what I can tell.
^ I'm curious, does having that plastic hangtab on the back make a game get a lower grade? Those were put on at a retail store not the factory, right?
As far as I know they were put on by stores, but I would hope it doesn't negatively impact the grade. I guess we'll found out tomorrow when one of the experts drops some knowledge on us.
That's correct all the case fresh games I got do have the plastic hangtab straight from the factory. If you decide to have it graded you might want to ask them for the hangtab rail option, it's $3 extra but it looks so much better!

I would say this would fetch an 85 if you sent it in for grading.
^Thanks man. That's part of what I'm worried about. As I have no intention of getting rid of the game if I do get it graded, I'd rather not spend the $$ grading it if it doesn't get an 85+ (if that's gold) or higher. I just feel like it would look pretty cool on my custom built NES shelf to have a gold graded game, even if it's a crappy one.
Hi guys! When I look at the board that is insert in the acrylic case with the game. Is it Vggrader that decide wht is written on it, of its linked with the form that I have to send them? It looks like there're 4 rows.
- First one seems to be standardized with : DATE/Company/System. System always looks to be abreviation (NES, SNES, N64, instead of Super Nintendo). If I made a mistake with the date in my form, are they gonna but the right one or the write the date I suscribed? Can they write full name? As exemple : 1983 / Capcom / Nintendo (NES)
- Second also seems standardized with : For NES it says the color of the seal (white or black nintendo seal...), for SNES,N64, GB it says "Game Cartridge" that means nothing - unuseful information...! , for GC, Playstation it says "disk game or like 3 disks game"... Well can we change the 2nd row or its standardized by Vggrader?
Third is the title. Will they write it as I spell it in my subscription or its standardized? As exemple : Ninja Gaiden 2 or Ninja Gaiden 2 The Dark Sword of Chaos. Another exemple : Final Fantasy III or Final Fantasy 3
And forth seems to be a custom row. Often there's nothing written but sometime there's additional information. Is that information is linked with my submission form? If so, is it the "details" row?
Don't worry too much about the game information on the form. From my experience even if you put the wrong year, typo in the title or don't specify white seal, black seal or cardboard hangtab they will put the correct information on the label.
Question: How do you find out how many copies of each grade for a particular game have been graded by VGA? I'm trying to get an idea of where a couple of my rarer games fall in comparison to other submitted copies. I feel like they must make this public as some people brag on having the highest or second highest graded game, but how do I find this info? Thanks in advance.

You have to send n email to vggrder directely to ask them.
They really need to hurry up and publish their population reports they've been promising for years. Even if they charge for it would be better than the current method.

Agreed, in fact I am willing to take an increase im Salary with flights paid and Living out Allowance to work with them on publishing it.
It's not that hard to just email them and ask about a particular title. I could probably publish my own population report with as many questions as I've asked!
Agreed, it's just a dynamic list that changes everyday, so it will be welcomed once it finally becomes public. Last I checked the PCGS and NGC based grading companies all charged for access to their population reports, so VGA may do the same when they decide to make it a tool.
I think they should make the report available to premium members (which I am not but would strongly consider if offered a pop report) at least. I don't want to ask about each game individually and where it stands on the population report, but would love to see one w/all the games someday.
After purchasing a couple VGA games I'm honestly kinda bummed I can't physically touch the game box. I know it defeats the purpose VGA stuff, but I think I prefer my ungraded sealed stuff to my graded stuff. I might sell the couple VGA games I have down the road for raw copies.
Hey everyone, I'm thinking of making my first submission to the VGA, but I don't know whether this is good enough to grade gold. It's definitely case fresh - there are just a few light scratches on the plastic. There are no corner pokes or rips etc. The only issue is that there are a couple creases on the back. One on the left, in the red area, and another on the right which extends over to the side of the box. I know this is either an 85 or 85+ and I need help figuring out which. After looking at a ton of eBay pics, I've seen 85+ games that look worse, and 85 games that look better, but the pics are always lacking detail, and it's difficult to gauge the condition of the plastic from photos.
Any help with an explanation is appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to obtain 95 or 100 from a unit that has been 'circulated'
Or is that number the result of sending VGA a box of several units and just asking to rate them all?
Curious to know

Appreciate the effort, but that thread is full of circle-jerks and one guy with my question un-answered.
Even though my question asks about a game being graded while 'circulated'.
Thanks anyways...was cool to see some 100s

Actually, no, the thread has the answer to your question if you were to look at the damn pictures.

This is my second submission to the VGA, and definitely some of the coolest items in my collection.
Any help with an explanation is appreciated. Thanks!
