I hate international buyers sometimes. They fuckin suck. I only have problems internationally now.

Maybe just don't sell to international buyers?  U.S. is plenty big enough you wont lose any business.

I get what you're saying though. How do you think Canadian sellers feel
  • I had a customer absolutely PESTER me to contact him outside of ebay. I did and got my account suspended for 7 days. The fucker didnt even but ANYTHING! I do this for a living, I an so fucking mad!

  • I wish I could say saefjknsdafn in real life.
  • Wow. You can even get all those games on ebay for under $50.. i beleave this is what youtube and websites like price charting and rarity guide do to the retro gaming market. ANd people who are not really IN retro collecting are going out hunting for these games. Theres so many retro game hunters out amd about now its crazy

This reason you gave is exactly why I no longer ship internationally on Ebay. If there is a problem the cost is more than its worth. How many issues have you been having with international buyers?

Not enough not to stop selling to them. They are my number 1 buyer of toys right now lol. I can tell usually which ones will be a problem by the types of questions they ask. South America is probably the worst because they typically are the most impatient and have the longest customs wait. But the last 2 , I actually got honest people who wanted to repay since the item arrived. LOL I wanted to say....see you dont open cases and actually fucking wait longer than 2-3 weeks we could have avoided this whole damn ordeal. But since I had already refunded them I was super nice and both ended up paying for their items. Both were over 40-50 bucks too so that was good.

I sell a bunch internationally. Usually 10-15 packages a week. Canada is generally the best. Their priority tracking is top notch and gets you a signature for more expensive items even if you go to canadapost website. I have the most frustrating experiences with south america. I stopped shipping anything really valuable to Italy. My number 1 single country of problems is probably Israel. Their tracking is garbage, and their customs hold the package way too damn long and I get a not received claim. Generally not a problem

If I didnt ship internationally Id probably use the Global Shipping Program. But for any seller that already ships Internationally, that program is ass for them. International buyers hate it. All it really does for a seller is protect you for the not received claim which is nice, but actually getting an international buyer to buy your item using the program will be tough. Most hate it because it overcharges.

If Ebay requires immediate payment on all listings in the future which is fucking stupid, then Id priobably be forced to go to the GSP or International Buyers will get no combined shipping discounts from me since I cant update an invoice if they require immediate payment. I cant do calculated shipping. All my stuff is random and different , and how i package things completely depends on the grouping of items they buy. The value and volume dictate the method on a case by case basis.

they could have done it on purpose and reported you.
  • Quick rant.

I hate that something is considered "shipped" just because a shipping label has been created.  My wife and I ordered a dress from Etsy for our niece for her first birthday.
    • The party is this Saturday, October 28th
    • We ordered the item October 13th
    • Item was "shipped" October 18th
    • No arrival as of today, October 26th
    • I checked the tracking info and the package didn't even hit the post office until Ocotber 25th
That means they printed a shipping label October 18th, but didn't even drop it off at the post office for another week.  There is a slim to zero chance that the package will arrive tomorrow which is our last chance to get it in time for the party because we will be on the road to the party before the Saturday mail arrives (which is when I anticipate it will actually arrive).  Veyr frustrating.  While Etsy is no Amazon, they are still supposed to have better support than this.

on the plus side, ebay doesnt count the item as shipped until it gets scanned in. so if the seller said the item ships within 1 day and it doesnt get scanned in in that time they get hit by ebay. after so many items not scanned on time the seller will loose top rated seller status, but im assuming this seller didnt have that in the first place.

We bough it from Etsy, not eBay.

But still good to know that eBay tracks that stuff.

Another point.  When I print my eBay shipping labels, it asks for the date I plan to ship it.  I always select the following day, but eBay still lists the item as "shipped" when I print the label.  I get that eBay tracks when the item actually gets to the post office, but I still don't like haveing it labeled that way.

Ugh.   While it doesn't help now, when I have a deadline for something like that I'll message the seller and mention that I need it by X date, and would it arrive by then?

Although sometimes even that doesn't help.  I bought a large PSP lot off of a guy in the same state as me, mentioned that I needed them to arrive by Friday (5 days; this was Sunday when I was talking to him and he was already planning on using priority mail anyway and assured me he would get them out in time).

Fucker didn't ship until the following week.  Too bad it was Facebook instead of ebay.

For sure.  Obviously, I could have kept an eye on the tracking and I might have noticed that it never hit the post office after the shipping label was created, but I shoulnd't have to do stuff like that.

We also had a bad experience with a Groupon order last week (they sent the completely wrong item), and I'm pretty sure we aren't going to get our money back.  If it were up to me, we wouldn't order from Groupon or Etsy, but my wife finds this stuff we wants.  None of them have the service of Amazon.

Yeah, Groupon is crap.   Etsy is totally on the seller, so a lot of hit and miss there.

Luckily I have local sources for anything I would normally get from Etsy so I don't deal with that headache.

My wife is so pissed about not having the dress for the party that I might be able to convince her to avoid Groupon and Etsy from now on.  So maybe some good will come out of it.

Oh well.  First world problems.  My niece is only 1 year old, so it's not like she is going to know that we gave her the present a week late.

I was on the other side of a situation like this recently. Buyer bought a game from me the evening of 10/12. I printed the shipping label and dropped it at the post office at 9am on 10/13. The counters don't open until 10am so I wasn't able to get a receipt and just dropped it in the mailbox. The package didn't show up in the system as accepted until 10/16 and was delivered on 10/19. Fortunately the buyer was understanding, but I wouldn't have blamed them if they thought I was being shady.

In other news, Gamestop denied me the sale of a SNES Classic today due to me having bought one a few weeks ago. Lesson learned.... don't give your rewards number more than once if you're purchasing these there. It's ridiculous but apparently they are watching the numbers on these.

Interesting.  I understand the one per customer rule on release day, but I figued by now they could drop it.

Target don't have this restriction. They let my wife and I buy one each with the same RED card but as two separate transactions.

Yeah it was a bummer.  Target, no problem... just have someone else with you and you're golden.  They don't care nearly as much
  • That sucks. I had a different store pull stunt around them. I found a store that had a supply. I asked for two but got one. Why? The other employees off shift would be mad if they sold me them because they couldn't buy it themselves first. They're not hard to get with a little persistence but still for that being the reason is dumb.
  • Maybe I'm going to be totally on my own here, but are you guys seriously complaining about not being able to purchase multiple units of the SNES mini after virtually everyone spent MONTHS specifically bitching about how that was allowed, not policed at all, etc. for the NES mini? I get that these very well may be innocent purchases intended as gifts, picking up one for a friend, etc. and be a slight bummer not to be able to pick up another unit (especially days/weeks/etc. later as in the GameStop example). But it's definitely not "ridiculous" that this is happening. I would personally call it "heartening" that stores are actually taking availability seriously this time around. So long as they're willing to sell you one, everybody's golden. If you're allowed to pick up another individual unit for whatever reason, great for you. If not, also pretty great, as that indicates retailers are finally starting to listen to everyone who has bitched incessantly about the problem of scalpers cleaning out all stock of limited, rare, short packed, etc. items for decades.

Certainly your point is valid, and I do agree with it.  No matter what my reasoning is behind purchasing another it is good they are trying to fight the good fight.  But if I hadn't been honest and gave them my name I could've just purchased it.  So to put another perspective on it, you could say that they are rewarding dishonesty.  The attendant at the counter said, "Looks like you bought one on the 13th...  I can't sell you this one."  To which I replied, "Oh, I thought they were limited to one per customer per day...?"  He said no.  Then I continued on to say if I hadn't been up front with my rewards number or any information you would've just sold it to me, to which he said yes and encouraged me to check the other place in town.  I agree that it is good they are trying to deter scalping, and typically my intentions are good when finding these (ie - I've already hooked up a few NA members, family, and friends), but it is natural to rant a little if I don't get my way
