  • If you can wait a few weeks I have like 30 of them.
  • I'm in no rush right this moment. I'm 10 years between getting the two rifles I have now so it's fine.
  • the new seller dashboard has been released today for ebay and this is insane. The defect rate is going to kill a lot of sellers. especially with stupid buyers. I have a 1.7 defect rate because two of my three NAD cases were from stupid buyers who did not Read (or look at pictures) of what they were buying and were pissed that it wasn't something else.

Now my buyers stupidity is going to count against me. unreal.
  • My local goodwills have become a B&M ebay store. Ridiculous prices.

My defect rate is 2.43% . I don't sell much so the slightest problem hits me hard. I have 3 Items not received cases but I can't remember ever having one in the last year.

Getting real sick of selling online both ebay and amazon cater to high volume sellers. Like I've said before niche sites are going to be the future. Ebay/Amazon with just be left with generic shit.
  • Mine is like 1.67%

Fucked up thing is that I can't see who left low DSRs and for what reason. I routinely ship within 24 hrs from payment so I can't understand how I get blamed for USPS sucking balls (there is one for shipping time) and certainly don't get how I can be blamed when USPS loses something in the effing mail...
  • According to a post I read on ebay forums, DSRs will no longer be anonymous beginning at the end of the month. It won't show user ID but will show the item. We'll see if it is true.

lmao then why not show the id? do they think we cant look it up? or do they think I wont? haha. Yea this was talked about after the update on ecommercebytes.  They said this wll be unprecendented transparency....ok ebay so Ill actually get to know who screws me over? about 3 years too late there. Then as it turns out you will have to run a report to even get the item. It wont just tell you. Youll have to go fish for it lol.
  • Here is a post similar to what I've been saying about the niche market. Also he does make a valid point about the discounts. Ebay and amazon will just be left with generic shit.

"emarch you're in the 8 per year crowd which most of us are. All ebay is after is getting rid of the discounts being paid out and they realize that at less than 10% sell through rates they can get rid of a whole bunch of folks real fast with the new system. The only problem is going to come in when they snag the unique item sellers those folks can't be replaced by the trinket and trash sellers very easily..."

Looking through my cases I can see where I got the Item not recieved. But those where ADHD buyers that opened them immediately all where closed because they recieved items yet they count as defect. Man fuck ebay
  • It seems ridiculous that "item did not arrive" count against you now in a very serious manner. I have 3/5 of the allowed defects, 2 from non-delivered (or scamming buyers..) items and 1 from a cancelled transaction. With these in place the buyer gets even more leverage over sellers which is bullshit.
  • When they set their new policies up I lost my power seller internal rating so the little perks I got with even more discounted shipping over the standard is gone which sucks. And I think you're right they're looking to bury the discounts and perks as much as possible because I've also noticed they largely done away with the free unlimited posting of auctions they used to do. It seemed like every month or other month they ignored the 50 limit and I hit the wall posting 1 item Sunday night.

I think TiKi is on it how people may start shuffling over to other niche things, and for gamers probably GameGavel since they're 5% fee versus 10% and they don't cap you to 50 before pay to post. I'm testing the waters there now shoving up 10 items over various systems to see if anything shakes out as I'm ticked off about all this stuff.
  • ^ Bonanza is another site, but not good for games.

All I know if ebay boots me there will be no reason for me to buy anything on there. Everything I buy on ebay is with money that is already in my paypal account. Don't buy anything if I don't already have the funds in the account. And as you guessed it I get the funds from selling crap on ebay.
  • Had a recent INR case against me because the USPS misdirected the package. Resolved amicably since the item did eventually make it's way to the proper destination within a few days, and buyer closed the case the day it arrived. Look today and I have a mark on my "defect rate" because of an opened case. What a load of shit. eBay didn't even need to get involved with this case, and yet I'm still punished for something far out of my control.
  • Hmm just checked the new dashboard and it says I have a 1.82% defect rate. Apparently 1, 2, and 3 star for "Item As Described" is now considered poor? I thought it was only 1, 2.

I feel like I describe my items really well, so hopefully those are just fluke DSRs that will fall off.

That's the one that pisses me off the most.  Basically, the buyer can basically say "I don't want it any more" and you're fucked.
  • I wish people would get dinged for not leaving feedback after you left them feedback. I bet the last 5 purchases I have made, no one left feedback. I only have 44 feedback, but I bet have 15+ that never left me anything. Stupid.
  • I agree with that. Feedback should be mandatory. I've had to resort to withholding feedback to get it as much as I do (2/3 of the time) because otherwise almost no one leaves it. I'll leave it every time after I get it.

I agree, that makes no sense to me. Generally if someone wants to cancel ill just oblige since it is easier to repost the item then risk a negative or neutral feedback from a buyer who doesn't want the the item anymore anyway.

Likewise. Unless I'm the buyer, no feedback is left until feedback is received, and even then it's still maybe 50 percent of the time. After the paypal case period ends (45 days I think) automatic 5* feedback should be left for your account, clearly there wasn't an issue with the transaction.
  • I agree with that... I've also quit leaving feedback till I get it. I still get maybe like 2/5ths of buyers bothering to leave feedback.

I still say the obviuos solution is for ebay to auto positive  for people who dont leave feedback after 45 days of purchase. Simple as that. There obviously wasnt a problem if no feedback was left or atleast anything significant. they know that would help sellers ratios though would never do it. Whats funny is ebay is catering to these huge sellers from china who have shitty feedback yet they tought that they want the best sellers to be on the site. If that was the case you wouldnt want these gigantic chinese machines that get 100s of negatives a month, bronze Silver and gold powersellers get squeezed on ebay,
  • Now why would they do that? It would just help out people like you and I...

I ran my DSR report... my only bad one is some shit from California who is pissy that the free media mail he paid for didn't get there at priority mail speeds and some fuck who bought a $5 game and expected a mint rarity...
  • Anyone else having issues with shipping out internationally with flat rate boxes? I'm trying to ship stuff out to Canada and I put the value of the items down (in my case, total of $60), and when I print out the label, the value on it shows over $1000! WTF!

Called Paypal and they say it's not their issue. So now I have to call USPS tomorrow and figure out what's wrong...(and yes, I've mentioned this to the buyers of my items as well so they know what's going on).
  • Maybe your first problem was using a flat rate to canada? Lol almost never a good deal.
  • So how does one block buyers with zero feedback from bidding? I found a spot to block buyers with negative feedback but not zero.

Yes I already tried Google. Couldn't find a good answer.

I got mine too. Mine is 1.12 but doesnt count a couple item as described auto opened cases that are easily fixable buyer ignorance things and my first negative in nearly a year. This is bad stuff. People are pissed everywhere. Those case opening things that ebay automatically opens tagged to messages dings you for a defect even if there isnt one. Also if a negative or neutral is revised to a positive it stays as a defect even though a seller fixed it. Basically zero incentive to help anyone once a case is opened or feedback is left.
  • kcmase sent me this one...

My Horse & Me: Riding for Gold

Seller message: Do you think Im not that smart? I know it is, and they also have none in stock. I tried to get this one for my wife for years and it wasnt there. $50+3 shipping is the lowest she'll go on this.

Buyer message: Highest I'll go is $30 shipped. This game is $17.99 at gamestop. Check it for your self.

I hate people like that trying to lie and manipulate for a collection or a flip.
  • welp now im up to 1.43 percent defect rate. Says 7 low DSRs?? lmao how is this even possible. I havent even had 7 problems where people would have left low stars in the last 3 months. Ive fixed 99 percent of problems and the buyers said theyd leave 5 star positive. So I dont know whats up. It says 0 negatives even though I got my first this past week in over 9 months. How can i sustain this 2 percent threshold? How are sellers larger than me going to be able to? This is serious business. Ebay is about to do themselves in seriously. I sense a mass seller exodus in the near future. I was accepted to 11 main. It has me thinking of once its fully operational just moving everything over there. Ebay is becomming unbearable.

Its just hilarious that they will be left with chinese trash whose accounts are littered with hundreds of negs yet they claim they care about keeping good sellers. On eccomerce bytes a recent article was written of people following a particularly larger account. Negatives and Neutrals are dissapearing off their account and the feedback revision count remains unchanged. This would be fraud. Ebay is really starting to irk even people like Ina on ecommerce bytes who a good majority of the time is neutral and just states facts. Ebay is being so shortsighted. Wouldnt be suprised to see the CEO donahoe fired with severance soon just to save face. He has ruined this company. Meg started the downward spiral and he is finishing it.
  • I doubt they'll care if you and other big size American sellers bail because they can just pick it up off people like myself who float a few items every week/month and those who just use it now and again as they can keep a revolving door of newbies versus pissed off veterans that bail.

I've never heard of 11 Main but that site they do have up to tease looks like it could be a welcome change.
