Ebay is down.... Looks like another hack. This is ridiculous. They just changed their outage policy to state they arent financially accountable for outages. Really fishy now that everything is down
Might not have deleted it. I try accessing my own user page (also in my profile here) and it says I don't exist (at least is true as of a few min ago.)
Edit: I apparently exist again and can log in. My item results in search are still otherwise inaccessible. Will see how long this lasts.
Went in there and they tried to sell me a Pikachu N64 system for $500 lol... I told them they were idiots and they said they "knew what they were doing". Right..
Just messaged seller if is not able for whatever reason to take pictures, that he would honor the sale if pay for postage in sending it to him back if there is an issue.
For the sellers here, is that a better alternative?
I sold off my NES/SNES collection back in 2006-7. This past spring I started collecting again and holy $&%#!!! the prices have skyrocketed in the past 7 years! EBay, Amazon and yes Craigslist prices are insane! What I've been seeing from my collecting these past 6 months is these crazy prices are affecting tag sales and flea markets. I built my past collection up 95% buying at tag sales, flea markets and thrift stores. So that's what I've been doing this time with my new collection. BUT, I now see a very different trend going on. Uninformed people are pricing there kids NES/SNES stuff at crazy prices based on eBay "buy it now" prices. And I've seen more resellers at tag sales then I've ever seen in my life.
Here's an example of my collecting experience this summer--
Went to a local tag sale that had NES listed as one of the items being sold. The TS started at 8am. I show up at 7:45am and the lady is still setting up, I ask about the NES and she said people were knocking at her door at 6:45 looking to buy. I was the 15th person to show up and ask about NES that morning. So the next week I go to another TS that will have NES but get there an hour early. There is a line of people in the front yard waiting already, I found out through a young N64 collector that was in line that most of these people were flea market/eBay resellers and that they have been at every NES/SNES tag sale, every week, very early. Jeez I never saw a reseller at a TS 7 years ago! He said there was one older lady reseller who goes the night before the tag sale to try to get the people to sell to her that night! Crazy!
Here's another example of how eBay screws us- I saw a beat up super Mario 3 with the label 90% ripped off at a local Tag Sale, the homeowner said it was rare and priced it $35! Hahahaha! I asked how she got this price? She took out her cell phone and showed me a eBay "buy it now" super Mario 3 for $35. BUT, it was mint CIB! I tried to explain to her that the cart she had was not worth the same as a mint CIB but she looked at me like I was trying to scam her so I offered her $5. She of course said no. Ughh.
Why are prices skyrocketing on eBay etc? Is it all these YouTube retro shows bringing old videogames into the spotlight? Is it our fault as collectors? I just don't know, but I am certainly not enjoying myself collecting NES/SNES like I used to 10 years ago.
Just messaged seller if is not able for whatever reason to take pictures, that he would honor the sale if pay for postage in sending it to him back if there is an issue.

You could always go through ebay's return process and ship it back if it arrives not as described.
Are people just assholes or what? I was trying to make a deal on here with Siccooper and right in the middle of our deal he goes "Sorry someone just bought them all." Seriously? If you have people interested in shit, you PUT A FUCKING PENDING SALE RIGHT ON THAT SHIT.
You're an asshole dude. I'll have to remember your fucking name as someone not to deal with in the future...because obviously you don't care about screwing over someone like me when someone comes along, flashes all his cash and wants your shit. Oh and btw, a very unwarm welcome to Washington jerk.

I mean its his stuff. If you wanted just one or two things and someone else wants it all, then its way easier to sell it all at once. If you had no final deal you had no deal yet. Its his stuff and you can have multiple discussions for deals on an item. Would it have been convenient for you to tell you that others were interested , ...yeah, but I dont see the big deal if there was deal in place. It might not have sold before you started talking to him to put a pending on it.

The very first thing I posted about selling my collection was that I would like to sell it all at once, and larger bundles get preference. How am I an asshole for needing to move everything in a week so I can move across the country? I'm sorry you didn't get your 15 PS2 games, but get over it. It's not like we were discussing a large deal for a couple days, it was maybe half an hour of time. Your post here is incredibly hostile and childish for no reason at all. In no way did I "screw you over."
I had over a hundred different people interested in smaller bundles, and I sent the exact same thing to anyone else who was interested in stuff once the entire collection was sold to a single buyer. I cannot believe how you are acting so entitled to someone else's things. Everyone else has been super kind and congratulated me on the quick sale that I needed. I really suggest you sit back and think about why you are so angry, because it honestly makes no sense at all.

It definitely would have been preferential to tell everyone that someone else was interested in the same items, but when dealing with 100+ peopl on 5000 games, and most of those people all want smaller bundles that include some of the same games 30 other people want, it becomes impossible.

Really you have the nerve to say I'm childish? When your making a deal with someone, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, you don't undersell them. That's just low. I don't give two shits if you wanted to sell it all as a lot to start with or not, I'm in the middle of making a deal with you and you sell it all to someone else.
Your in the wrong, not me buddy. It's called having common sense and common courtesy. If I was selling a massive lot, even if I wanted to just sell it to one person, if I had other offers on the table for small lots, I would sell to the people who asked first in order, then get to the guy who wanted it all. That's being fair to ALL PARTIES INVOLVED.

I don't see how your post above can be taken as anything but childish or jealous. Just because you werent able to purchase a few games, you come here and write a post filled with personal attacks and foul language, instead of just congratulating me on the quick sale, and moving on. I clearly made the right decision in NOT making a deal with you. When I say that larger lots are given preference, that means if someone wants a larger bundle and it includes games other people want in smaller bundles, I am not going to make a bunch of small transactions, and then sell the left overs to the person who is offering what I want the most. I am not obligated to sell to you or anyone, until a deal is struck, which in our case, we had not done yet. I did end up selling a few smaller bundles to people before selling the rest to 1 guy, but those deals were already completed before I received an offer on the rest. If I am SUPPOSED to sell to who contacts me first, regardless of the offer apparently, then you wouldn't have gotten most of the games you wanted anyway, because you weren't the first to ask about them.
If you and I are discussing prices for a set of games, and then someone else comes along and wants the same exact lot of games, but they are offering more, it makes no sense to me to sell to you, when I need the money. I will take the higher offer because it suits what I am looking for better, and that is all that happened here. We are not friends, so I have no incentive to sell to you for cheaper, just because you contacted me first. If we had already both agreed to a deal, then I pulled out to sell to someone else, thats different, but you and I had no deal made. You also had me spend time looking up individual prices on 46 different games, and then removed 26 of them because you "already have them." If anyone is in the wrong here, it is you, wasting my time looking up very fair prices for you on games you have no intention of ever buying.
I won't be replying after this because my points have been made.
So I have had no luck in the past year with flea markets, but this one pissed me off. I'm on vacation and figured I'd go to a local maket with my sisters. Only two shops with games each reseller shops over eBay on every item. Had a guy who set up outside but was a reseller with only games tell me to make an offer on a dot hack mutation with no manuals scratched to hell, this guy had a lot if stuff and only like 20-30 items were actually priced. So guy looks it up on eBay and tells me to make an offer, I told him well I know it's like $20-30 complete to which he scoffs and tells me it's way more than that right away getting an attitude and getting rude. I told him no it's not and that I sell on eBay to which he basically tells me I don't know what the fuck I am talking about. I pick up a $5 game that he has $30 on and tell him dude this is a $5 game(kid clown on snes) and he tells me he is a power seller in eBay and sells 7 days a week and he gaurentee since boughten things from him on eBay and if I am a seller I should just sell all my stuff to him and u just walked away. Guy really pissed me off. Just super dick sounded like he was from jersey and didn't know a thing he was talking about.
Shit pisses me off. I'm not going to bother going to flea markets anymore. Just a waste of time.

I remember reading your thread and you made it very clear that you would sell to a bulk buyer first to make it easier. That being said your collection was beast, sorry you had to sell it, but I hope you got a good bit on it and didn't have to get shafted on a bulk sale.
Yeah man. A common misconception is that flea market vendors sell under value when really its the opposite. The vendor has the advantage of being in a place that is reputable for cheap things so by the assumption, w.e they sell is going to be cheap. In reality, the vendor bought the stuff to resell and he knows what its worth. The problem for him is that you did too. Most people wont question the price or will try to haggle him down through friendly dialogue.

Siccooper has nothing to feel bad about here - as he did nothing wrong. And I was in the exact same boat as GirlGamer55. I spent a lot of time going through his lists - picking the games I needed for my Atlus collection - and sent him a message. We sent one or two PMs about it and then he informed me someone was discussing buying his whole collection. Yeah, of course I was disappointed, but I TOTALLY cannot blame him at all! He mentioned in the thread he'd prefer to sell in bulk, and in my opinion, it is kind of an unwritten standard that in this scenario, someone who is making a major purchase is probably going to get a little preference.
He clearly stated he needed to sell things quickly and needed the money. It would have been a total nightmare to go through all the PMs, go back and forth with people all asking about similar games, and trying to negotiate different lots and giving details - my brain hurts just thinking about having to deal with all of that when there is a buyer lined up to buy everything.
One thing I really appreciated about him is that he was very communicative and at least took the effort to let everyone know what was going on, rather than just leaving people in the dark. That must have taken a lot of effort with how many people were interested.
I stand by what I said. It was rude of him and that's not the way to do business, at least I was raised to never back out of a deal like that. Again because some of you forget, look at my damn sig ok? I have no filter on what I say, I'm not sorry for what I said, I did say it wrong, but I'm not sorry.
That's actually exactly how negotiations work. Unless the two of you agree on a price and he said it's yours for that price, all the two of you did was negotiate. It's non-binding. No deal was backed out of because there was no deal.
Just went to my local salvation army store yesterday. They had dirty/scrached/inked SNES carts at the register under the glass individualy priced at least 10% above their actual value. Example- Super Mario Kart $25, super Mario world $15, Axelay $37! I asked the elderly lady behind the counter about the high prices and she said "We price according to the eBay BIN prices" AAAAGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! What is the world coming to!?!? They get this stuff for free!! Ugh!

your liable for what you say. doesnt matter what your condition may be. No one backed out of a deal. You didnt have one. Also appears you wasted a ton of the sellers time anyway. Your rant was so unwarranted.

I'm sympathetic that you have Aspergers, but forums are not real-time social interactions. You have the option of sitting on a response for awhile and reviewing it with a clear, critical eye later to see if there is anything in your response that might come across the wrong way.
I agree with both quest4nes and teh lurv, at least in regards to gamergirl55's unwarranted rant. She is far too cognizant of her own words and situation to not know what she is saying when she says it. I'm calling bullshit, AGAIN. And if you think I'm being a dick, just check out her Introduce Yourself thread... It got locked. There's a first. Well, since I've joined at least
Anyhow, for what it's worth, I had seriously considered making some offers on some of the items in the dude's collection but figured it'd be in vain due to the size of the collection and his initial hope to sell it all at once. Granted, anything that has happened since I can't say for certain what went down but I'm not going to be a fucking pussy about it.
And, by the way... If that one person has a problem with what I said, that's just tough fucking shit.
I had a guy text me from Craigslist about my ad for buying broken/untested/missing cables consoles from NES to PS3 (I buy them for cheap, repair them/use them for parts etc. I refuse to post one of those I BUY NINTENDO GAMES ads even though people think that's what it is sometimes). He tells me that he has a few working consoles, N64, PS1, GBAs etc and games and I tell him that I don't buy any of it because I only buy junk to repair for cheap and he wouldn't like my prices. He tells me to make an offer anyway, I said that I wouldn't pay more than $50 for it so he should list them on eBay or make his own Craigslist ad. He basically forces me to only pay him $30 to get rid of it so I say fine and drive an hour to meet him. He texts me when I'm almost there and tells me that he looked up the prices on eBay and now wants $100.
I told him no and went home, waste of $10 in gas. Why do people think it's okay to change a price when the deal has been settled?
I also missed out on a huge SNES/NES/N64 lot the other day, someone got it for a mere $110. The lady was very nice and kept me updated to whether or not they sold it yet (the buyer had offered to meet almost a day later). So I spent the whole morning anxiously waiting to see if the person came or not. I didn't want to try to backdoor it because I've had it happen to me right in front of my face and it sucked.

For the sellers here, is that a better alternative?
The only difference is obviously the price. (This is about 190$ - when I missed this it was 100$ cheaper)

For the sellers here, is that a better alternative?
You could always go through ebay's return process and ship it back if it arrives not as described.
Trying to return a gameboy game (that has no save feature) for not saving...

That must have taken a lot of effort with how many people were interested.

your liable for what you say. doesnt matter what your condition may be.
