bllaaammm this piece of crap! sansui joycard SSS

So, picked up something neat for a dollar. I picked up a joycard SSS with the box(but no paperwork). Just plugged it up and it seems as if the sound is not working. Before I crack this joker open and start investigating, I was wondering if others have had issues with these before? I imagine there's something wrong with a component in the sound circuitry somewhere.

But this thing is pretty neat - adjustable rate turbo, mic port on the controller, faux stereo with dual mono option, adjustable volume... neato! Makes me want to do this to a normal NES controller

or maybe not... those corners aren't so comfy at least the corners on this thing are round.

  • That's the one that looks like a famicom controller, right? Sucks that the audio port don't work on it, but hey, a dollar for one boxed? Not too shabby.
  • Hah, I have 3 of those that died on me. Meaning they don't work at all. You probably won't want to mess with it once you open it. There are 2 circuit boards in there and they are soldered together in so many places I didn't want to bother poking around. I would say open it just to take a peek. Sansui Joycard is my absolute favorite controller for the NES. I figure once my last working one dies I will mess with them then.
