Place to press CDs?

Do places that normally factory press CDs also do software and film discs?

  • I bet if you did you'd have to prove ownership of stuff being put on there. But I'd say without thousands of thousands of dollars, it'll just be a CD/DVD copier that you can just do yourself if you're patient.
  • There's a few websites out there that offer professional pressing.

You're going to probably pay about $1 to $3 per CD with a minimum order of 1000 CD's though, depending if you need jewel cases, sleeves, inserts, etc. It's actually much cheaper than you'd think. There are other places out there, but some use CD-R's with just CD printing, and others use actual pressing machines.
  • Just a quick question. In what format are ya needing them pressed? Like, what kind of software is it, and to be played on what?
  • I buy dvd cases from www.discmakers.com. I'm pretty sure they press software discs.
  • I wanted to take some of the homebrew games like BoR and Mugen stuff for Dreamcast (and possibly the original Xbox) and have professional looking discs of them made as well as cases and manuals. If it is that costly then I don't think I am going to even bother. I was also wondering if pressed CD software would even work on a DC or if it needs to be on a GD-R, but again - I am not about to spend a few thousand dollars to get a couple of free games.

    Thanks for the help all

  • It doesn't matter if a CD is pressed or not, they all work in compatible Dreamcasts. I've played Metal Gear Solid on my DC using that Bleem disc lots, PS1 discs are still pressed CDs.
