Game Gear lines threw the screen problem
Damn this has been a bad day for me video game wise. First I find out the second disc of the copy of Resident Evil 2 I got the other day isn't working. Then just a few minutes ago I tried to play Power Rangers The Movie on Game Gear mostly because of the funny character select screen only to find out my Game Gear screen is having this weird problem where theres only white lines on it. I tried messing with the brightness and it only changes how many lines are on the screen at once. I don't mean to come off as a complainer with this thread, and am sorry if I am, I hardly ever complain it's just been a bad day. Does anyone know if this is fixable and if theres a way to fix it that doesn't require soldering?

As 3Gengames suggests, this Is caused by bleeding capacitors. I would rip it open and change every capacitor in it, including the sound board capacitors.
They're all different but theres plenty of tutorials and pics on the topic.
Good luck
EDIT: Just read up that this can also be caused by a bad LCD connection.
Apparently resoldering the ribbon points can be a fix.
Damn, its seems like everything iinvolves some sort of soldering... Sorry
