Decided to take the plunge!

Hello, all. I'm Alex, and I'm somewhat of a lurker around here. I hail from Chicago, IL and I'm 30 years old.  My first system was Atari (probably owned by my family when I was born.)  We got NES as soon as it was released in Chicagoland.  Came with SMB/DH and the gray light gun.  After the 8 bit era, me and my brother decided to take thet Sega route, and I spent half my childhood coveting the SNES at my friend's houses haha.

I've been very interested in classic gaming, and have been feeding my habit with.......less than reputable means. (Read, emulation)  I finally decided it's time to start collecting.

I went to a flea market yesterday and picked up my first SNES and Super Mario World.  System was yellowed but inside was clean,  I had to get some rubbing alcohol to clean the game.  Started to get worried as I couldn't get the game to work or even seem to get any kind of screen to come up at all.  It didn't take me long to realize that if I wedge a Q-tip in front of the game after I put the cart in, it will work.  (Any fixes for this?)

I do have a good question here I hope someone can answer though.  While at the flea market, I saw a box at one of the vendors.  The Miracle Piano Teaching System.  It was for NES, but when I opened the box (box was intact but pretty torn up at the openings, the styrofoam was all there).   No game, no cords.....just the keyboard.  If I can get this for cheap next weekend when they open back up, would it be worth it?   How much is this worth if I can try to get a deal?  The vendor appeared to have just a bunch of random stuff, so I'm not even sure he'll know the worth of this item.

Anyways,  I'm very excited to start my collection, and I hope to make some friends/connections in the world of classic video game collecting.
