Anyone here a fan of the classic 'The 7th Guest?'

Rare is it that a commercial title from a game developer puts up a game for free so I figured why not link it.  If anyone here uses an iOS device(pad, touch, phone) you might want to grab this for some old school puzzle and horror fun.

Also 7th Guest Infection (a game in 7th guest as a puzzle) is up for free today only too as a stand alone title:

I have no idea if this is on android or not as obviously apple won't advertise for them.

  • I used to play this and Phantasmagoria all the time on PC when I was younger. It did not age well at all IMO, but it's still fun to look back.

    gotta love old PC games
  • I have this on CD-i. I've never played it though. How long is it? My CDi can't hold a save..
  • Shy Gypsy, Slyly Spryly Tryst by my Crypt. I used to play this game like crazy. First CD-Rom game we owned. Thanks Tanooki!
  • Ugh that stupid can game in there never made sense to me. I don't recall it ever giving a hint on it so it's just random can shuffling until you hit it. I had to do that one earlier, did the cake puzzle before that. I finally fired it up for like 20min to check it out and it still seems quite nice on the smaller ipad screen.
  • This is awesome!

I loved the 7th Guest as a kid but it was so incredibly hard I don't think I ever got very far. I played this game before I had the internet so, you know, no hints.

I couldn't solve that puzzle until I was in highschool (played it in like 4th-5th grade originally)! All of the others, yeah, but not that one! Well, I can't claim I really solved it: I used the clue in the book, and looked for words that had "Y" as their only syllables.
  • Damn, this was posted yesterday! Never mind. Good deal for those who got it.
  • FEELING LONELY.....

7th Guest and 11th hour were both great games.

Trilobyte INC. studios was right down the street from my apt in Medford Oregon when I lived there back in 95.

  • Yeah sorry it's back up. I hope no one bothered with Infection, it's awful. The CPU always gets to go second and no matter what difficulty you're on it behaves the same, and you lose.

Aww, c'mon, it's not impossible! I'm sure I've beat it like, two times in 20 years!
  • Hahaha exactly. It's badly rigged. I'd have been mad if I paid for that. I think it was meant not as a game but an anger management app.
  • I read somewhere that Graeme Devine programmed it that way on purpose... but he overdid it indeed!
  • That would not surprise me. It didn't take me long to figure out why it was setup how it was and how it would react to any move you made. Basically you can't go second. Also, no matter the move you make, it will always move to take something of yours and in particular where it can gain the most with the least loss. Also I and my wife(had her try it to prove I wasn't just getting angry at it) had it happen to her too, but Stauf cheats. You can only move next to a spot, or jump 2 away, well the prick jumped 3 away and took a nice cluster of our 'cells' on it. After it hit me, then her on her first play, I erased it and unregistered it locally off my unit and my itunes account and erased the local copy off the PC too. Terrible game.
  • Sad I didn't see this yesterday. Ah well.
  • Hey KHAN, do you think you can work on a NES version of the 7th guest?
