Finally.Beat.Battletoads!

So, a few weeks ago, I set out to beat this game after all these years.  And I finally did it!  A few things; I did use the warps, but I've beaten all of the stages before.  I did use the extra men trick.  And I only used one continue.  And of course, that was on the Dark Queen.  Battletoads is, by far, one of the best games on the system.  Hard but a toad-load of fun   What's next?  On to Battletoads & Double Dragon.  Haven't played much of it, but is it just as tough?

    What he's not showing in the pic is the NES that's REALLY hooked up to the TV with the Game Genie in it.



    j/k Congrats man! That's definitely one of the toughest NES games.

    wow thats cool I never actually beat battletoads when I had it on Genesis years ago. I made it to like the 3rd stage and never got any further than that

    ...congrats.... I set out to beat this 6 months ago and I nearly broke my TV over it. I have Battletoads/Double Dragon (the SNES port) and even the first level doesn't fuck around. I think you'll enjoy it after your victory. Again, congrats.

    Congrats man! Definitely a tough game and quite the accomplishment. I don't find Battletoads & Double Dragon to be as hard. It's definitely got some tough parts, but I find it to be easier than Battletoads. I've only managed to beat it once, but I didn't have a really hard time with it. The part that was the toughest for me was the level where you fight the rat ship while you're flying around in a little spaceship. I can never get the hang of the controls on that level.

    I think I've beat the rat race once,the Clinger winger I swear is impossible without memorizing it completely.

    Thanks! I'd rate the hardest stages in order are: The Revolution, Rat Race, Terra Tubes, then Clinger Winger.

    Well, it's definitely impossible on 2-player mode

    Wow holy crap dude good job. This is one of the hardest games I have ever played imo. I have never managed to beat this game, EVER! So hats off to ya!

    Congrats man! I've been daydreaming lately that one day, I might eventually be able to finish this game (finally). I might begin working on that soon. It will definitely be one of my biggest (if not the biggest) gaming accomplishments ever, if I manage to do it. Such a great game, but so god-damn difficult.

    Congrats! Thinking back I had getting to the revolution down to a science, but only managed to beat it once.

    Thanks! I'm getting the Revolution down much better but still can't reliably beat Rat Race everytime. That third race is tough!
