  • So your looking for a usb arcade stick? If so I have a few usb arcade sticks.
  • Hopefully something like the NES Advantage, but native USB and mostly OS compliant.
  • Tw1tch recommended the Fighting Stick EX2, but that's a bit too rich for my blood. If someone stateside has one of these I'd gladly take it off of your hands:

  • I bet someone here can do one for you, on comission. I haven't tried this store, but their stuff seems very cool: http://www.ultimarc.com/JShopServer/section.php?xSec=6
  • Ultimarc is good stuff. The guy's name is Andy, and he's all over the arcadecontrols.com msg boards. I've got the Mag-Stik Plus (with balltop) for my DIY NES Advantage project, and it's great. Apparently, the Ultrastik 360 has mini USB right on it. Of course, you'd have to acquire/build a box for it.....
  • Ive seen NES controllers and stuff with USB plugs for use with emulators on the computer. Im sure someone has an actual Advantage controller to do the same thing.
  • Just a heads up, I know I'm bumping an old thread, but basically any arcade stick for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 will work on a PC. Not sure about the linux support, but I use my Madcatz TE on the PC to play shmups all the time. YMMV though, but just a thought
  • The best ones I found where the New Mortal Kombat sticks.

    There's two different kind...

    One's that open:

    And one's that do not:

Both are really good, and very durable... it's like they took the arcade stick right from the arcade machine itself! Only gripes may be the button layout (It's set up for Mortal Kombat games of course), and possibly the graphics, but it's not too hard to make new decals.

Now, I've only tried these (I own the non-openable one, and I have the one that opens at my store), on the XBOX 360 and they do work on PC. I'm not sure if the PS3 one is any different or compatible to PC or not, but give one of these controls a whirl if you ever get a chance to.
  • I play UMK3 using a new MK stick under linux. They work fine. I've also used them with M.A.M.E. as they appear as a generic HID-device with the appropriate number of buttons. You just have to configure them under M.A.M.E.

If you have any woodworking skills and spare time, you can whip one of these bad boys up yourself, just get a cthulhu board from http://godlikecontrols.com/ and some happ or sanwa buttons and joystick, drill holes in a board and you're set!
  • ^ Yeah, the MK stick is by far one my most favorite arcade sticks. Your idea for a custom stick is cool too, that way, you can even change the button placement to where you want them too.

If the fight-stick mentioned, above, was "too rich for his blood", no way will he want to pay for a commissioned piece of hardware.
