From Atariage To Nintendoage Hi
Hi everybody, I normally post around on atariage and pcenginefx.com so my user name might seem familiar to some of you. I grew up with Genesis, Nintendo and Super Nintendo like most everybody’s story here. Around the 32 bit when all sorts of new and different game systems came out like Jaguar/Jag CD,3do,CD-I,Amiga CD32,PC-FX,Pippin etc I pursued a few of those hoping to find gems and to be different from everybody else. The whole experience left me very disappointed and burnt out. Too many bad systems, too many bad games. I never had interest in much of the later generations of game systems afterwards I felt especially right around that 32 bit era it was just a race to keep pushing more powerful systems and graphics and less focus on game play. Id borrows the occasional ps2, gamecube, xbox to keep up a couple franchises but never really enjoyed most 3d games. One day I was given a colecovision and Atari 7800 and hooked them up and the most fun in years playing these old games. Looking for more games to buy I found out there was retro game companies releasing new games on carts, with boxes that gave the feeling of getting a brand new game on old format really revived my passion for games. Being able to have something new on something old I love. I hate emulation.Im not against it just never gave me the same feel as the real thing also pushed me as well..After awhile I got bored with the limited capabilities of allot of the older retro systems though they had fun games I also never got the feeling as I was "at home" or "for me" if that makes any sense I’m very passionate now on pursuing mostly super Nintendo especially the translated rpg reproductions that never came to America and the vast games for super famicom that never came to America and new homebrew games on the horizon.
