Computer won't recognize camera

So I have a camera that I use for all my pictures (Canon Powershit A630) and it has always worked fine with my computer. I plug in usb turn camera on and the little bubble on the lower screen pops up and I can do whatever with my pictures. I tried this today and nothing pops up for me to click on to open the pictures. Please Help.

  • Tried anything with that usb port?
  • definitely check the connection at both ends, and try another USB port. If you have no other port, do as sheikah suggested and try another device in it. It might be a no brainer, but make sure the camera has a charge as well.
  • if you hear the "bum bum" noise that the PC detects the connection you should be able to just open "computer/My Computer" and see the contents. If its there and just not popping up your Autoplay setting just got changed somehow

, also you might have a bad wire my daughters mp3 player had trouble connecting with the laptop to charge and i tried a new usb wire and it was fine. sometimes they sell universal usb wires that have different tips for all types of cameras
  • Or remove the drivers from the PC and let windows reinstall them next time you plug it in.
  • Well I think it was the batteries there was enough to have it turn on apparently but not enough to stay with the computer I guess.
