6in1 cart only, rare version?

A while back i bought a nes consoll with 5 games, one of the games was the 6in1.
I was sure i had seen somewhere befour that this cart is worth more than the avarage game, so i checked around a little but could only find the myriad and caltron version.

Also most of the forums where i have asked the users have not seen this version befour, so i hope that there are someone here who might have seen it befour and have some more info about it, and ofchourse what i could be worth.

Here the pictures:

  • Never seen that version before. It appears to be a pirated version of a Caltron. The back label looks like some of the pirate famicom labels I've seen so I'm guessing it is a pirate instead of a legit variant, tho I can't say for sure.

Edit * - just looked at a pic of the back of my famicom snow bros pirate and it has the exact same "sophisticated apparatus" back label, so It must be a pirate.

  • Glad to see your found your way over here as well image

  • I wonder if Caltron/Thin Chen/Sachen/whomeverthehell they were had tried liquidating stock elsewhere before, during or after the Myriad restickers were made? I'd be curious to see what the board is like in this one. I know there's another version, Dynacom. Has anyone ever looked at the boards in those?
  • All I know is that back label is on a ton of famicom pirates, I'm guessing it isnt a legit variant.
  • Halla påsan, syns du skal gi carten til meg image

I did bid on this auction too, but forgot about the whole thing... image
  • The Caltron 6in1 with exact front label like the US counterpart has been found in Australia on two occasions if I'm not mistaken, both with the same bootleg back-label. Based on what is known, NTDEC/Caltron/MegaSoft was obviously involved in both bootleg and original software, so that entity is only borderline legit to begin with. Until a box or any paperwork/catalog is found, it's hard to say whether this would be considered a bootleg or original software, but IMO it's leaning towards legit, since the casing, label, and software are all from the NTDEC house (the label contains artwork found on the individual game labels found under the Gluk Video labels). Since it was found in Scandinavia, I'm guessing it was a 'HyperBoy' release like the War in the Gulf that jajaja found there with the likely original NTDEC label. Who knows, maybe this means that there's a 6in1 release by Gluk Video as well, sporting this same label under their label...wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I tried to open it to take a look, but afther removed the 3 screws it still wold not open, possibly its glues togheter, or it might be some screw behind the label.

Hehe, youre getting old, youre probably getting amnesia image
I lost the auction, but i guess the winner did not pay it.

  • You can try forcing it open. I did the same with Gluk Video games (they have the same casing), and it worked without problems. Even when I thought I would break the casing the first time, it worked fine.

Hehehe. takk sound a little risky image  I rather sell it without opening it image
  • don't blame you lol.

If there's a central screw it's possible to still open it by just rotating the halves counter to one another. But if it's glued I'd probably just leave well enough alone.

Speedy alluded to it, but really all of these are pretty well pirate-like for all intents and purposes. Even if Caltron/whomever actually owned the rights to distro these six games, whose to say the USA one was the definitive, legit version. It's canon to collectors, but that's a paradigm we've created around this hunk of plastic.
  • I am interested in it, I have a thing for multicarts
  • if there is a screw behind the label you should be able to feel an indent on the label there, did you try that?
  • Since this casing seems to be the same as other Caltron etc casings, there shouldn't be a screw behind the label, and the cart also likely isn't glued. There are two clips on the cart if I remember right that put a lot of pressure on keeping it closed. I don't necessarily recommend the use of physical force, but just for your information I've yanked open these casings about 10-15 times, and never broke a thing.
