Remove paint from plastic

I was at the Flea market today and there was a black dreamcast there the guy wanted 16$ for it so I bought it. I am assuming that it is the Sega Sports model because thats the controller that came with it, however the person that had it before me thought it would be a good idea to paint it straight black. It is scratched and it bugs me so I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to remove paint from plastic without melting the plastic, Thanks.

    Well I think that you should just sand it all down prime it and spray a new coat of black on it any other methods of removing the paint would remove the Sega Sports decal.

    Ive been told goo gone works but have never tried this, so I cant say that it will work.

    Simple green All Purpose Cleaner, Toothbrush, Elbow Grease

    Flat up Best way ever, I used it on 1000 points of Space Marines with no ill effects

    I've never used this on a console or game but brake cleaner will take just about anything off. ( I will experiment when I have something I can use it on in the future )

    i've got some airplane stripper that eats ALL paint off, unfortunately it might possibly eat plastic too,

    Hairspray. Doesn't work for everything but it does well on most of the carts that have paint or marker on them.
