My two copies of this manual have a -2 serial # on them.  Why is this?  Is there a -1 or a normal NES ZL USA?

Yes, there are many different Zelda Manuals. However with a -2 you have the classic series re-release manual in your hands.

Interesting, does the Canadian release have its own manual as well, in both French and English? I have one of those carts but no manual with it.

From my master collection list: I don't have my PAL or CAN, etc stuff on it but yes CAN Zelda has it's own book as well. To answer the first guy in my list below you can see the -2 book goes to the re-release. This may not be 100% up to date as I'm at work and I just copied this off one of my old posts last year.
