Need some advice

I just bought a boxed "uncommon" game off of ebay and in the description of the item it read "the box is in reasonibly good condition without tears, but with some sitcker residue", the image provided seemed to look good, as did the game itself so I went ahead and bought it. Yesterday I recieved the game in the mail and when I looked there was about a 1.5 x 1.5 inch piece of the box flap missing and the game has a huge scratch right on a white part of the label making it very visible in my hands but extremly difficult to see in the picture. I don't usually buy anything off of ebay so I wanted to know if there is anything I can do to fix this, any help would be apreciated.

  • just contact the seller and explain how you feel. They will either be an asshole and tell you to screw off or will aympathize with your disappointment and possibly offer a partial refund if you keep it or a full refund with returning it. Dont know til you try!
  • Just contact the seller; it's a buyer's market on ebay, and you hold all the power there. If the seller values their reputation, they'll take care of you =)
  • Do they usually cover return shipping ( the reason I'm asking is because it was shipped from Canada and cost about $7 ) with a full refund because to be honest I'm not sure I really want to keep it because of the condition, also thanks for the suggestions.
  • It varies by seller, but like Jonny said,if they value their reputation they will take care of it.
