Grey Screen/Flashing after new 72 Pin Contact

Title pretty much says it all.  Changed out my 72pin on my NES and still get the flashing light and the grey screen.

Any suggestions?

  • Grey screen means bad connection. Try cleaning the board connectors, and there is some small adjustments you can make to the cartridge carrier. I'd take the top off, loosen the carrier screws and try slight movements to see if you can get a solid connection.

    Also, disable that lockout chip.
  • Yup, I've got her taken apart now and going after pin 4. I'll report in after.
  • Worked great, cleaned contacts and snipped the pin.
  • Congrats!
