  • I don't have that kinda cash. The only reason I collect stuff is to play it. I collect the stuff I like. I'm not looking to collect a whole bunch of shitty games, or games I would never play because they are sealed. I just like to have about a undred of my favorte cibs for each system I have in pretty good shape. So I would'nt get into sealed collecting or grading stuff. It would kill me to spend that much money on sealed games for them just to sit and look pretty. I put my games to use. For all the money I would spend on sealed games, I could get a new car that i need, add to my down payment for a house, save for my wedding, etc. I just think there is so much more to worry about right now for me.

On another note. If I had the cash, and all my shit was squared away, I would like to get Zelda: A Link to the Past sealed mint to frame correctly and hang up and be the center peice of my gaming collection. That is my favorite game in the entire world.

I don't have much money either which is sortoff a setback, which is weird, because I get huge paychecks, just other people get most of em.

My best advice:  Get into crappy games, they go cheap sealed.

Also if you have patience you can get a deal, even on the bay.

God didn't grant everyone a brain and the ambition to research prices before they post stuff.

  • one question i have here, and forgive my poor etiquette in making this my first post instead of an introduction thread, i'll go and do that immediately after posting this reply. has there ever been a CSB auction of all games, possibly including or excluding stadium events? im really curious to know whether or not we have gotten simply to this point-to see a complete or nearly complete sealed collection of nintendo games, pal or ntsc, in a single ebay auction.

Ha, not even close.  Though one member on these boards is 3 sealed games away from the entire set.  And don't ask what they are because he doesn't want people to price gouge those titles...

  • stop buying used shite nes and buy sealed games you cheap paupers!!

^I still don't understand what this dude is saying.  NO is the easy answer though I think

I eat bad sausage all the time no problems yet...

  • He's asking if a complete set of sealed games has ever been sold in one shot. As far as I'm aware, a full set has yet to be put together, nevermind sold.

And if you're referring to Bronty, he sent me a list back in the day with 12 or so titles on it. Probably because I'd point him to them if I ever found them image Glad to hear he's almost done...sooner he finishes, the sooner I can rob his safe deposit box and open every game image
  • as a semi cart/cib collector (havent really committed to either yet) i wouldnt mind having a few sealed games as a "prize possession" type thing, but they have to mean something. for example i've always wanted sealed smb 1,2,3 which i think would be cool, or even a sealed black box collection would be pretty sick. aimlessly collecting sealed games just is too hard to find and too expensive to be practical.
  • Yeah, I gathered as much, they way he said it---bizar

Bronty should PM me his list too, I know he doesn't tell everyone and shouldn't but I'm constantly picking up sealed games lately. Some rare, most not, but I run across a few things that seem unusual. With only 3 left the chances would be slim that I could help, but you never know. I'm not a reseller buy any means, to busy/lazy to sell stuff really

Well on the flip side it's nice to have something that is truly rare and unique, they aren't really all super over priced.  Ironically I think it's the Zelda's,  Final Fantasies, and Marios that have ton of copies out there that are way over priced, and some rare sealed gems that run under the rader dirt cheap.

I know of only 1 other person that has one sealed game I own.  another, I've picked up last week, I've never seen listed on ebay, and i've been searching for 3 years for it.  Both for a pretty fair price, BINs that I talked down.  Most of the fun is looking for the games.

I agree I personally, would never go after all the games sealed, unless I was a billionaire, Bronty is some sort of freak of nature, but he's done pretty well.  All of my sealed games are personal favorites.

  • I just grab sealeds whenever I come across them for a heck of a deal or if it is a game that truly means a lot to me. I still don't understand people who only collect sealed... surely they at least have carts or CIBs of some of their favorites to play.
  • I want to get into sealed collecting eventually. I've been watching the market on/off for about the past 6-9 months.

-It seems like there's a large number of carts (hundreds) that appear often (and in good condition). Easy if you have $30-80 lying around.

-Some are rare and condition sensitive (like black box).

-Some are just plain desirable and will always be (like Mega Man 1).

    -Some are impossibly rare.

-Some are one of a kind (like the stadium events).

Haha, I think that covers it all. I've been thinking about a strategy, but I'm not sure what yet. Maybe get some cheap ones ungraded and see how those do. Before buying more expensive ones ungraded. Or maybe get some of the hard to find ones early.

In the end I would want a fairy matched set (witin 5 points on the vga scale, from 80 to 90, 85 being the goal). Maybe 25-35 carts graded, with others ungraded.
