The exception is where the packaging design is different. For example, I keep all of my SteelBook and DigiPak CE's separate from my regular games, whereas a lot of people will integrate them within their alphabetical system. To me, this messes up the streamlined organisation.
In regards to my PlayStation 1 collection, I keep all of the double jewel case games separate for the reasons stated above. At one point I used to keep all of my Platinum games separate as well, but I then decided to integrate them as I only have a handful
Where my SteelBooks and DigiPak CE's are concerned, I arrange them in size order. My X360 shelf typically has the taller / wider CE's to the left, DigiPak CE's, then SteelBooks with slipcases followed by those without. All are alphabetised in their sub-groups though

I think I'm gonna resort to kicking the VHS out of their book shelves & make them into a nice wall on the floor again
But then half of my VHS are special & need to be kept staff. Its times like this you know your in deep...
