Black and White SNES...

Unfortunately I can't open it up because the security bit is different than the ones for games. I don't want to bother buying a security bit for it if I can't figure out a potential problem before I order it.

I've read around, and I'm seeing people blame the RF shield on the inside. Something about it getting resituated and causing the b&w effect. I also read something about a dude adjusting a screw inside to fix it.

It seems to be a common thing, but I haven't found any solid advice. Yes its both the RF and multi out or whatever its called.

  • Yeah, I asked this myself before. My potentiometer was stripped out I guess because it spun without end (looked like someone had messed with it before). Check out this link to see where it is. The arrow points to the potentiometer you supposedly need to adjust.

  • My buddy has this problem last year. Turns out the ports on the TV were messed up making everything B&W (but only on the AV1 port, not the AV2 port). You sure it isnt a TV issue?

He also said the RF unit is B & W. (I had the same problem) So the  AV ports would have nothing to do with it in that regard.
