FS: NTSC Family Fun Fitness Athletic World Set + Press Kit
I never thought I'd see the day where I'd let go of some of my personal
grails. Since 2003, the Family Fun Fitness bundle has been THE personal
holy grail of my collection. Perhaps it wasn't the rarest, but there
was something about it that I loved. I was also intrigued by how little
information there was about it in 2003. I inquired and researched, but
could hardly gather any information about it. The picture has become
clearer over the past 5 years, and now many NES collectors are well
aware of its existence.
In addition to the Family Fun Fitness bundle set, I was also able to
attain something really special (to me at least) a few years back. I
stumbled upon an official Bandai Family Fun Fitness Press Kit from
1987, of which I posted many of the same pics in an earlier NA thread.
I have never seen another one, nor have I ran into anyone who has seen
one before. It's really something special as it has a few names of
people involved with Bandai at the time, along with company information
including phone numbers & addresses on type-written sheets with the
Bandai letterhead. There are also some great press pics lol
The NTSC FFF Athletic World box has never been opened from the top,
only from the bottom. The tab on the back is still in place. The box,
with the exception of a few creases that do not break color, is in
excellent condition and looks almost like new. Comes complete with the
manual, sleeve, and cartridge, which are also in nice condition.
The pad is in excellent condition and comes inside the original box
(which has the original sticker price on the side at $99.99).
I accept PayPal, money order or cashier's check.
I will ship your preferred method. I will package everything VERY
SAFELY and make sure it arrives in the same condition it left.
I have excellent feedback on Digitpress for prior transactions, but
none really recent. I had one recent successful transaction on AtariAge
for a high dollar item, and have sold consistently on eBay as spidey300
with great feedback.
*********UPDATE***********
This whole offer thing is not working out well. I've mostly received
messages asking how much I want. The press kit has received the most
attention, but I made the mistake of responding to everyone with a
price range of what it was personally worth to me.
I have no idea how much this is worth to others. None whatsoever.
I
don't know of any such press kits passing through any other hands of
collectors, so I don't know how to guage a price. I've only ever dealt
with systems and games, never an "accessory" item of this nature.
The price for the Press Kit is open for discussion.
The complete Athletic World game...$750 obo.
The boxed Family Fun Fitness pad....$125 obo.
Message me if interested.

As far as updating amounts on the thread, I'm not really keen on forum auctions, but I will give updates as to whether I'm close to a sale for a specific item or the set. If you'd like specific info to perhaps best it, you can email me. I am NOT in the business, whatsoever, of being shady, and will not provide a false or non-existent offer.
Anyways, thanks for the nice comments!

To have a "complete" pad, you'd have to get the Pad box, pad, and FFF Athletic World. Gotcha - thanks!

That minor variant has sold for over 1200 Stan....that was at the peak of the hype when one hadn't surfaced in like 1.5 years. The price seems to have came down on it some though, I would guess around 500-600 range.

Who gives a shit if it was $1200 "at the peak of the hype"? You mean the hype people like you create with your insane price quotes?
Let me guess, you'd price the variant at 500 and the press kit at 100, right? Because a one of kind piece like that is nothing compared to a variant that has 'magically popped up' so much after the hype? Meaning no one was looking for it or cared until you chimps said so!

Isnt this the same dude that many of you voted as one of the collectors of the year????

I think portnoyd is just mad that a lot of people see things upgraded in price on Nintendo Age because of the "frenzy" of articles and stuff which attributes to the hype.
We've seen Gluk and unlicensed Color Dreams and Bunch Games stuff go through the roof, Athletic World variant box, Section Z Maps, Monster in my Pocket figures, I mean, it's pretty crazy, but the community is hyped up about this stuff like any game community would be. The telling part is the hype on the homebrew stuff which is severely out of control and limited just for these types of frenzies.
I'm not condoning portnoyd's attitude towards the whole thing, but the justification in pricing is severely screwed up in some ways.
All the prototypes I have by rule of thumb are rarer than almost anything, but there is absolutely no hype on this site about them, which means the level of interest is way lower than it should be when I am selling these items. Limits me to overseas buyers and with eBay blocking these, it's making it really hard to sell them sometimes. If an article or "hype" was done about exactly how rare those things are, then maybe they would go up more in value, but that's just hearsay. I do agree that when the site "hypes" up items, there is a frenzy among the community.
I think we should all try to get along, and not everyone likes everyone on this site, but I think there is a more polite way to bring this stuff up.

You do realized NGD recently aquired a large supply of unreleased Color Dreams items, right? So, I don't think he would think a "one of a kind" thing is worth nothing compared to certain variants.
I really think you should attempt to keep up on everything that going on before making claims about how someone would price out something.
Stop using your status in the collecting community as a weapon.

I think everyone can be a bit testy in here at times. I'm seeing people who "used" to post negatively and complain and are now deemed "ok" because they stopped doing it.

Jason, couldn't have said it better myself.
Fact is, that prices are what they are because NA and the ezine have helped to make them so. It's a cyclical affair. Those "in the know" say that it's worth this, or will be worth this, and then it is...
Ridiculous. Half of the things that people are vaunting as valuable are only valuable because of the hype created here.
Report information as it is, speculation aside, prices aside. If something is valuable, then it will fetch the Kwon. If not, then perhaps it was only valuable to some.
Port's message might be a tad bit brash (LOL), but the rationale behind it is sound for sure.
The site should focus on providing reasonable, accurate information that is useful to everyone; rather than a price guide (directly influenced by those involved in the buying and selling.)
