I had some pics on my computer but it crashed a couple months ago and I lost everything. I also misplaced/lost my camera. When I get one or both situations sorted out I'll post some in the collection pics thread. I think Robin and somebody else wanted me to post some sealed/opened game pics. I will get on it some day boys...
Why is there not a link directly to what you have so far so we can tell if you have it already You have Tiles of Fate?
I believe Wiz is waiting to hear back from one person before the list is updated and link is posted. Hopefully he's caught the 3 games I've done since then too. I'm anxious to see the updated list so that we can figure out what hasn't been added yet.
I purchased my first sealed game recently. I usually collect cart only, but the auction was ending soon and I jumped on it.
Thundercade (American Sammy, 1989)
Cart (NES - USA)
Instructions (NES - USA)
Box (NES - USA)
Nintendo Power "To play seriously you need the Power from the pages of this magazine." (GP - NES - USA)
Flat Black Dust Sleeve
To be honest, opening this game almost brought a tear my eyes. It brought back so many great memories of my childhood, getting a new game from the store and bringing it home and enjoying it. Not to mention the cartridge plastic was so different from the plastic texture I'm used to in dealing with used games. It was much more smoother and shiner. I'm starting to think maybe I should start collecting sealed games now...
What's the status on this Wiz? Last edit was 08/25/2009 at 03:27 PM that you needed 1 more? I've seen a number of them since I joined...have you tried resubmitting? I'd be interested to see what the new list looks like...
The rush of nostalgia, the 'new game' smell, checking out the vintage flyers, posters and inserts, playing a never played game before, adding a 10/10 CIB to your collection, enjoying it in all its minty glory.
I used to have ~ 70 sealed games (nothing rare or over $50) and decided that keeping them on my shelf untouched wasn't for me.
Okay, so I've been busy as shit the last while. I've added the handful of new submissions, but never received the PM I was waiting for (Seth, get on that so I can get Stack Up on the list goddamn it!). Anyway, I'm polishing up the numbers now...none of the new ones posted since my last post were actually added to the list as new titles, but most had variations in the actual contents. Also, the Thundercade that was added I would normally bitch about the codes, but I'll let it slide this time because, well, I had a copy listed anyway so I copied it and changed the NP code (everything else was the same). Anyway, I'll be submitting it tonight, just as soon as I get everything updated. Hopefully it will clear the GameFAQs queue within two or three days.
EDIT: Guide updated and submitted. The FAQ queue is short, only 38 files awaiting review, so assuming most of those are updates to existing files it should be up by week's end.
Well as I've mentioned repeatedly, don't let the fact that it's already listed dissuade you from opening the games anyway. I have several duplicate listings documenting variants (including manual variants with the * by the code, along with copies with different contents and other shit like that). I might start using the data to figure out how long some games actually remained in print, which can be apparent in which Nintendo Power cards were used during specific time frames, or which adverts were included in the game. But it's nice to know people are enjoying the update.
EDIT - Dang, I posted it back when morbis was watching the list. I deleted the photo I guess. Why would I do that I dunno. Anyways, I'll ask superNESman for a photo since he's the guy who has it now. Was:
Baby Boomer
Blue Cart Box Manual Color Dreams sleeve (but can't remember which one) Cart Bag The yellow circle paper thing outside the box that I describe to morbis
Could have been an insert in there, but can't remember. So I'll need to get you better info. It would be a nice one to have I think. Sorry about that.
It would be nice to get. Unfortunately the list should have been bigger than it is but I lost a few prior updates as well, so anything I had emailed to me or was in my personal collection is lost (at least until I salvage the data from my old hard drives). If it can't be confirmed it's not the end of the world either, we'd just have to wait until another one is opened

Sorry for the double post, but I don't like editing posts and I don't think I've ever done it before.

Thanks for the update Wiz
But you missed the blue cart variant Baby Boomer.
