Shipping question...
How do you guys get shipping costs so low?
I just looked at the canada post calculator and it said to ship 1 bubble mailer which was 6.25 in X 9.375 in and weighed 0.22 lb would cost over $10 to ship in canada...Why is this? Are bubble mailers not considered parcles or something? Its really confusing me.

I haven't done it yet, but i was told its cheaper to weigh at home and pay/print postage online, and If you get DC online its free. I just don't know how they do International stuff yet. It may be something worth looking into if you haven't yet though.
If you get a hard cardboard envelope, you can put a single loose NES game in it, and have it squeeze through the oversize letter "sizer", but then there's nothing to prevent it from being cracked or crushed during its delivery, and since that method is meant for documents, some post office people would refuse to send it if they knew it was a game.
If you ship a parcel to the US by Small Packet Air or Ground, you dont have to pay taxes on it. If you ship within Canada you do. Thats why its usually cheaper for someone in Canada to ship to the US than to someone else within Canada. Also, if you are shipping "West" of Chicago, it costs more. I can ship something to New Jersey for around $6, but its probably $8 or more to ship to California.
If you get a "Venture 1" card, you can get around 5% off the cost of mailing, which makes up for "part" of the taxes, but it doesnt apply to all delivery methods. I think it usually means you can ship "expedited" (meaning a tracking number) for the same price as by "Small parcel".
So basically, dont sell individual games. Sell game lots, or loose boxes or loose manuals.
