  • how many of those euro CD games did you have? It seems like you have an unlimited amount.
  • I had a lot of them, but not more than 10 of each if I remember well. But, these in auction right now are US boxes, look carefully ;-) .
  • Any more Challenge of the Dragons?
  • Too bad, I only had 3 Challenge of the Dragon and they're all gone now. I wish I could find some more of this title.

Did you receive your King Neptune?
  • Yeah... I thought I pmed you.. If not, yes I did image
  • i still need a challenge of the dragon cart and box! damnit!
  • Those look like sticker removed foreign versions... reason I say that is the Impossible Mission II is for sure the foreign version as it's the HES cart version that I bought from Speedy that he said was German. It's exactly the same but the foreign language sticker is missing from the box?
  • Yeah, you're totally right, and this particular sticker was a true pain to remove by the way. image

Unsealing an "Euro" and removing stickers from it is a good way to build a minty CIB, unless something goes wrong during the removal process though.
  • I'm assuming that my King Neptune isn't on the bay...(was waiting to hear back from you).
  • That is shady to remove a forigen sticker to make a "US" CIB.

What you have is a damaged altered Euro box not a minty US box.

Full disclosure is required when you pull a stunt like this!

  • I could not agree more!! Its almost as shady as printing new Testcart labels and not disclosing it.
  • I don't agree with you buyatari. There's no discoloration at all on these color dreams, stickers are easy to pull out with care. If the box was really Euro, color dreams would not just put stickers on a US box to make it Euro, they would run a full production of Euro. But the company was dumb, and they only put stickers to make them Euro. The box is not the stickers on them, but the box itself. When you disguise a banana into an orange, it is still only a banana that looks like an orange, pull out the artifice and you got a Real Banana.

By the way, I already done a minty US King Neptune for Jumpman Jr., and he received it "Super Minty". So there's no damage to these 'US' boxes, that come from the same production than any other US Color Dreams Boxes.

Added: Sorry, I think I misread your post buyatari, you said "disclosure" and not "discoloration". I'm dumb... pm sent.

  • Some collectors don't see the difference but believe me when I say this in time THEY WILL. A box like this sent in to a grading service would be given a very low grade.

You can do anything you want but to be fair you need to be clear what you did in the auction. People like me who care will not bid. People who don't care might.

I worry about the people who buy this and then resell it not saying anything but thats a different story.

  • These "euro versions" you're talking about are overstock US NTSC that were exported, aren't they? When they didn't sell well in the USA because of NOA's crazy monopoly stunts...

I respect your opinion, cause you try to make sense. But may I tell what I think is shady:

Sending games to Europe and only put faky stickers on boxes. There's not even a PAL game in that box, not even a translated manual. The french-german manual is just a white paper with times roman writing on it. Sometimes, people think that video gaming start with the box, but we must not forget about the game itself. There's no PAL cart, so to me, there's no real Euro version of Color Dreams games. It's not just because the Color Dreams staff touched those stickers to put them on boxes that they are a legit addition to the box. Video games producers are not divinity. Color Dreams were shady about Euro release, and the guy that bought a color dreams cart in Italy could'nt play it in his PAL NES without modifying it. To me, that is shady.

I'm not creating new stuff there, it only makes more sense to have a US box with a US cart and Manual. So the "analogy" of printing label is not right, cause I'm not producing something, just put these boxes to their 'original form'. Euro release have the same barcode and serial number than any US one, cause they simply are US with faky stickers. Sorry for the novel, but I though it was logic to explain my point there. I did not pull out these stickers without thinking about it before.

  • I happen to agree. I think the disclosure of removing the sticker is important, but essentially, it is a US game.

Box, manual and cart are identical. If the sticker is removed without damage to the box, there is absolutely no difference.

If there is damage, then you simply have a damaged US box.

I get what everyone is saying, but if the disclosure is there, then there shouldn't be an issue.
  • I don't mind this at all. The stickers are easily removable and you can't tell the difference at all. They were all US boxes to start with so it is not like he is trying to pull a fast one or anything.

  • Bump! only one hour left to Crystal Mines, and two hours to King Neptune's

If anybody is still interested in my knock-offs image, some of them are still pretty cheap.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?!? i had no idea it was a HES cart in that box.  I have a sealed one and I assumed it was just the ntsc cart. glad to know this.
