Notes on accessories collections

I think it'd be cool if the notes I've added to some items in my accessories collection could be viewed by people. I can only see them when I manage it, but not when I view it as an external user.

Hah, no, don't panic. You can add accessories to a generic collection in bulk. You can then see the name of any item you want listed, and you can add photos. But as these items aren't in a database, like the games, the system won't recognize them, and no notes will be displayed. People can see the photos if they click on the little camera logos, though.

If your that interested in sharing your knowledge go to the collecting board and start a accessory thread show your stuff off with pics and notes im sure we all could learn something

Do I detect some snark there? Well, no, I don't claim any superior knowledge on accessories or anything like that (Mr. Nintendo here must be a lot more knowledgeable than me, as well as many others). I just want people that are interested enough to browse my collection, to know specific details such as how did I get said item (and from whom), condition details that can't be easily depicted in the three photos you can upload (if I have a box and manual, that takes two), and yeah, why not, how much did I pay. Maybe there's an interesting story behind some item.



Personally, even if my collection is humble compared to a myriad of other people's collections, I want to put a bit more effort to make browsing a bit more entertaining (pics and notes). Besides, that's why Dain put those features in the first place, right?



Basically, I want to do what we all can already do for game collections.

This used to be public, but I think it needs to be a setting because some people were making notes like, "Yeah, I totally ripped of Jimmy Joe on this one. That poor bastard didn't know he just lost $400. His mom is a tool as well." ... without realizing they were public. So I just made them private. I have to re-vamp the public collection page soon anyway, so I'll turn this into a setting then.

I used to think my notes were private and I would add a ton of jokes to them, only to find out they were public.



Now they're private again, and I miss them being public.



I love the idea of having a setting, Dain you rock.

That's cool, it's just difficult sometimes to know what people mean without looking at their faces /hearing the tone. I made the mistake with Paul too apparently .
